Hiya,
looking for a set of cups that are a little bit larger than normal, that can hold 1 1/2". My intent is to combine my C&B routine with my multiplying billiard ball routine. Is there any place that sells cups like these, without having to mortgage my house. Thanks
Peace

That depends on how much money you have in savings.

I may have something. You say 1 1/2-inch. Is that the working routine ball size or the final load size?

Thanks Pete,
that's the working routine ball size. I upped my multiplying billiard balls t0 2 1/4 inch laquered wooden balls and now I have all these 1 1/2 wooden balls to play with. With the patter, misdirection and a LOT of practice, I can load them quietly, but there is not enough room for two.
Peace

There's always street cups, personally I find these to be abit too big for me. I've been looking for cups that can hold a baseball as a final load myself, but I'll probably jut get the Baseball loads Ammar sells.
As far as loading them, and noise (the wooden balls) have you studied Gertner's routine? He covers all sorts of info on loading and covering the noise that eliminates much worry. Still practice, he can do all the loads silent, but he has built in covers.

I've seen gertners, read about it and have poke and proded at it, like a coach breaking down game film, along with Tommy WOnder's Michael Ammar's, Dai Vernon's and Jason Latimer's along with a host of others and they are all truly noteworthy and amazing.

Let me test the Gazzo, Super Street Cups and Paul Fox Chick Cups... They are the largest I have. I don't know though. 1 1/2" is a tall order.
How many balls do you need to nest between the cups? How many balls do you need to rest on the saddle? Don |

WoW! If you are using 1 1/2" as the working ball, what would the size of the final load be?

At least two balls in the cup well hidden when the cup is upside down between the cups... just one when the cup above it has just one ball.
I find that the larger balls are better to handle.

The size of the big cups can handle 2 balls easily BUT two 1 1/2" in between the nested cup would be a challenge. I would also like to know what cups can do this.

I have Riser Jumbo Cups ...they seem to fit the bill.
they fit 1 5/8" balls on the saddle with room to spare, 3 of them. They hold a regulation Baseball as the final load. Mobius |

I just tested the Gazzo Street Cups and the RNT II Jumbo Street cups and they both will nest with two 1 1/2 inch balls on the saddle. The Paul Fox Chick cups would not.

Pete : Are these from Abbott? Look a lot like a vintage chrome set I bought last year.

I believe Bri is selling a set of Gazzo Street Cups at the big auction site as we speak.

Fortasse. I don't know the maker as I got them on ebay some time ago. I really like them, but have to thin the herd.

I don't think those cups will nest with two golf balls between them, Pete. The skirts are a tad short.
In order for a set of cups to nest with a ball that is 1 1/2 inches in diameter between the cups, the skirt of those cups needs to be at least as long as the diameter of the balls, plus twice the thickness of the metal. To nest with two balls, the saddle must be at least the diameter of the ball, plus a little more, so that both will fit side by side on top of the cup. The top of the cup will have to be rounded to accommodate the balls. Some of the Ickle Pickle cups will handle one large ball, but not two. Ditto some of the special long skirt Monti cups.

The collapsible silicon Boy Scout drinking cup can handle a 2" ball easily in some of its six possible configurations and you can carry three in your pocket easily. Check out the ShareBook "Scout Around" for dozens of Moves, Sleights and effect ideas. It is even possible to Load a magnetic Gaff "on the fly" and then "unload it" as part of normal moves to display the cup. While it can hold up to a 3" final load easily you can also do Indian Cup type moves or a Shell Game. It only comes in one color -- ugly, but is also cheap and is unbrakable and easy to handle.
Available at "No Charge" of course

They will take 2 standard golf balls between the cups when nested (not 3 though) and obviously 1 golf ball will sit nicely on the saddle but it would be problematic trying to balance 2 golf balls on top of the cup with it sat on a table.
