Magician Rick Thomas aborts tour to play Sahara

After spending months planning a North American tour, magician Rick Thomas decided there’s no place like home.

He debuts at the Sahara sometime in July.

He had announced a 50-city tour that was to begin this month, but he aborted it at the last minute when the deal with the Sahara came through.

“It was a surprise to me. I just learned about it yesterday,” Thomas said.

“I’ve be talking to the Sahara off and on for months,” he said. “They were trying to decide on me or other people. At one point I thought there was no chance whatsoever to go into the room.”

Sweet, Rick is one of my favorite performers.

Great to hear. I saw Rick at The Orleans for a very reasonable price several years ago, a fun show by a guy who looks like he is having fun too. If I remember right, he drove a motorcycle down the aisle after appearing it. I also appreciated his tigers being a on security chain, no chance of them jumping out into the audience during a show. And of course, he floated up himself for the Asrah, a neat effect. I'm sure it is a tremendous headache off his shoulders to stay put, put on a fantastic show, and care for his many exotic animals locally.

Ok... Just got off the phone with Rick to make sure that he was okay with me moving the schedule forward..

I mentioned Tuesday as that is the day of the official announcement from the Sahara. The story leaked early and there was a bit of a hoopla over that within the PR department. That being the case, I have been holding my interview with him to honor that date.

Now that the word is totally out, I'll release it asap for those interested.

Dodd, I would love to see that interview however when I'm on your site and click on Rick Thomas, Drew Thomas comes up. All the other seem to work fine. Is there something I'm missing. Thanks

How old is Rick?

Just saw his show tonight and all I can say is WOW! it was very professional, funny, entertaining, and skillful. I saw amazing johnathan yesterday, and am seeing lance Burton tomorrow,

But rick was AMAZING! his dancing was excellent! deffinatly a vegas show, but, only a little under 25% of the theatre was sold out.
