I agree 100% that the locking feature is something that sets this device apart from the rest. For many, many years I used one of the old standards, Power Ring Flite. It has stood the test of time and in the 25+ years I've been using it, I've never had any problem. BUT, I've never liked the "key purse" idea and frankly, I don't know that I've EVER seen one of those things used in real life. So the key purse was always a problem for me. I really appreciate that the newer models, like RFR, look normal. So for me, the look, the locking feature and the reliability are just about all I can ask for. Last night I did RFR about ten times while performing at a private party. It did the job perfectly and as always, blew people away.

Wow. The website looks GREAT, Dave!
I just received my RFR in the mail today. From my initial inspection, it looks absolutely top-notch. Will view the DVD tonight. I cannot wait to use this!
I'll let you know what I think once I've worked with it a few times; but I expect that I'm going to be very pleased!
Thanks again, Dave!

My RFR is still working like a champ. I have a new found confidence in ring flights. The problem with departure is it breaks just sitting in your pocket! How that happens I have no idea. If they can fix that then it would be tremendous. Until the RFR is truly the only way to go! The locking feature is key too! Yeah, I guess the pun was intended! Smile

You made a great product Dave and I'm one happy customer. Smile

I bought Departure and really liked it. Then I bought RFR. I gave Departure to a friend...

I did not read this whole thread. But something that really annoys me with ring flights and card to wallets is that usually they are not designed to be carried around with you for everyday use, although they are advertised that way. I'll explain.

I attended this year's Blackpool and got Black's CTW, which really is NO wallet at all. It works fine as far as loading goes but it's not a wallet if it has no place to carry bills in it. Dooh!!!

Same here. If I get Departure or Ringflight Revolution, what am I gonna do with my real car key? Two car keys on the same key ring is not good, so I would have to carry the normal key on another keyring in another pocket. Smile

Why hasn't anyone come up with a ring flight that uses just a fob.

Don't get me wrong... I really like the look of both, especially the RF Revolution, but it seems nice for nothing, and for me it doesn't cut it.

For this reason I think I will go for Pro Flite.
Yours,

Ivan

Um... lots of people have more than one car. I have a car, a pickup truck, and a van, and I have the keys to all of them on one keyring. IMO, you are over-thinking this. If you treat it as natural, the audience will, too.

My BMW doesn't even use a key, it't strictly a fob that plugs into the dashboard. Bottom line is who's going to ask if those are really your car keys? If you're doing this for you buddies at work on your coffee break, okay, I can see your issue - They know what you drive, but for a worker... who at the event or restaurant is going to notice what you pulled up in and that the key doesn't match or that it's a little different than a "normal American" key, etc.

Over thinking.

I envy you Scott.

Carlo you did not get my point. The strong point of such an effect is to have it on your key ring, get out of your house with the keys in your pocket and you know that you always have something on you to amaze people with. Why would I have to carry two sets of keys? Why not have these made in such a way so that I can just add my keys and off I go? And why do I have two carry two wallets, the normal one and the CTW one. I am not talking form the laymen's perspective here. I am talking from my perspective. I want to be comfortable. I want this made so that it can be used in my everyday life. If only the mechanism is placed inside a natural looking keychain fob.

I like Scott's idea of two cars though Smile And I love RFR too. But for me it doesn't cut it.

BTW my car doesn't use the fob either. I just touch the handle and it opens. And a push of a button and it starts. Smile

I see your point, Ivan.
It's a matter of individual and personal perspective.
I don't mind carrying "extra" items for paying gigs if they help create stronger magic. I rarely perform magic socially, and for those rare occasions I have enough powerful impromptu magic that I carry nothing extra. I don't own Revolution since I don't perform ring flight, but judging from the workers here who endorse it, it would likely be my choice if I did.

Actually now that I think about it, I can get away with it. My car does not have a key but rather a sort of fob which I just carry with me. This could pass by as a remote for the alarm and then have a key for the ring flight. Smile

It does look like a serious product.

Ivan

Hi All,

For those of you interested in a Ring Flight Revolution, but don't want the entire key, but just a fob,I have a couple of Mustang fobs that I have made up. There are no logos on them and they're quite small, about the same size as the departure gimmick.

If anyone does want one, please do get in contact with me. Photo below.

That's nice Dave. But now that I thought about it I will go for a key since my current key looks like the one in the picture you posted. Those two go together better.

Now I have something else on the wish list. :S

Ivan

Holy cow I want RFR very badly. Might start saving up for it.
I drive a Chevrolet in London, but would love to use one of the actual keys rather than have the Chevrolet logo on the VW flip key.
I feel like saving up to buy a Ford Focus just so I can use RFR!

Is there any reviews on this. How is it compared to like say CW ring flight or Dushecks' Ringer. I am really interested.
Thanks
Mike
