Title: FAN2C by R. Paul Wilson
Medium: Effect, DVD instructions, you make gaff Arena: Close Up Available: Any shop, distributed by Murphys Magic Supplies If you saw the movie Shade, and you should have, you would have seen some amazing things done with cards. One of the effects was a bad hand was changed, with a flick, to a royal flush. The card work on that film was so good that it made one think camera tricks were used but then realizing the talent of the men involved you realized it wasn’t camera tricks just superior card handling. FAN2C is the change from a bad hand to a royal flush with a flick as done on Shade by R. Paul Wilson and it looks amazing. The method is suprisingly simple and with just a little prework and some practice you’ll be doing the change yourself. It does use a gaff you’ll have to make but it is easy to do and as a special bonus you can, as I know so many are driven to do, hand out the cards. This effect is a quickie so don’t be expecting some long routine, I think it makes a cool looking component to a gambling routine. The DVD is well shot and the sound is good. Wilson gives you a hand full of presentations for this effect, my favorite is The drunken Mitt. I have to say while easy to do Wilson had to do the hard part and that was come up with the method and gaff, bless his evil heart. The DVD is only about twenty minutes long but how much more can you ask for? There is also a nice PDF built into the DVD. If you want to do a quick change with a deck of cards this is certainly the route to take. I’m kind of surprise Wilson tipped this, it sure wasn’t done the way I thought it was when I saw the movie but it looks just as good. Well done. |
