Hi everyone,
I have a question. I want to do a silk transformation from three little one (fit not in thumbtip) to one big. I do not want to use a chancebag. The whole performance has to be flashy, fire and within three minutes. Have anyone an idea how to make this transformation, I prefer not ti use a apparatus but if I have to dan I will (but not a change bag Hope to hear from you. my best, Ronald |

How about playing around with the pull? The big silk can be folded and palmed and the three little ones vanished using a pull. Hope this helps.

Hi James,
Thanx but this may sounds silly (or dum) but I do not know what a pull is. It sounds good the palming from the big one. Can you please explain to me what a pull is? |

Hi James,
I've found it on the internet. I do wear a jacket from a suit but the problem is that the silks are to big to hide under my jacket. For the visabillity I prefer not to go on using smaller silks. Great advice by the way. I learned something again! Thnx James! |

When you mention three little silks - what size are you referring to? 18 inches? And what is the size of the big silk? 36 inches?
The three little silks can be bundled up together so the 'pull' can take it away into the jacket or into the sleeve. |

Do Neil Fosters unprepared blendo. It is available from Abbott's or in Volume 4 of the Silk Encyclopedia.

Richard,
Is the Neil Foster unprepared blendo similar to the John booth Blendo from Marvels of Mystery? I've always found that the unusual fold for Booth's effect to be very effective in my show. there is something about a well performed Blendo that almost guarantees a audible reaction...maybe because they look so real and are so rarely seen.

Hi everyone,
Thanx for the advice. I have also looked it up in the trick brain from Fitzkee to get into the "transformation". It is a fact that you must need a apparatus, even a secret one as a pull or a big egg palming in your hand to make the transformation. I love to do magic with silk because of what neal is saying. It alway's gives a great reaction. At this moment I have different options. One is the pull, an other is to palm the bigger blendo and make the transformation or use a silk fountain and at the end produce the 36 inch silk. Do anyone of you have an experience with the silk fountain. Does this bring magic? Do you like the silk fountain? my best, Ronald |

The silk fountain is basically a multiplication effect where silks keep appearing like a flower blooming one after another. It is a beautiful effect and it also allows you to appear something surprising as a climax to the routine.

The Booth method is similar but Foster's handling and description is much clearer.
I do the Silk Fountain every show. Only part that is hard is figuring out how to introduce it to the other silks to start the production. Is it Magical, YES! And it is very, very visual. Dale Salwak told when he need a quick spot for a TV appearance; nothing beats the silk fountain. But the Silk Fountain and Blendo are two very different effects. The first is mainly a production where as the second is more of a transformation. Richard

Of course, you can use my "Flagtastick", 3 silks held in the hand instantly change to a Flag on a Flagpole.

Hi Ronald:
You can still get a Blendo from Silk King Studios, but it is expensive. The effect on the audience is that you have three silks...you show them separately, and then tie them together at the top. You pull your hands apart and you are now holding a large scarf which is multi-colored (the colors of the three silks). So, the three small silks have "blended" into one large silk scarf. I believe Silk King Studios have been selling this for 50 years or more. You can go to their website at http://www.silkkingmagic.com Ron |

Hello to all!
Thanxs everybody for the input. Just learning all the way. Now I am thinking is this, to connect the blendo with the silk fountain. If I can take the tree silks and transform them or make them a silk fountain with at the end the production of the blendo I feel that would be great. I am going to work on this. Really great topic, again thankxs for all your advice! my best, Ronald |

For the 'dexterity inept' a "Change Cap" can allow a few silks to become a Silk Fountain, or a Switch Basket.
