Hi, I have recently started juggling and I want to put it into my show.

One of the questions which comes to my mind is how long should I do a single trick before the audience gets bored, but make sure that it is long enough for them to feel an impact?

How long do you think should be spent juggling in a 10 minute magic/juggling routine?

Thanks,
Owen

The impact doesn't come from the amount of time that you spend on a trick, but the surprise at the end. There are tricks that my mentor and I have significantly shortened just to save on time, yet we still get the same reaction at the end. Smile Smile Smile Smile

Believe me, juggling tricks in isolation get very boring, very quickly.

Easy guide to building a juggling routine:

- learn lots of tricks. Go for a mix of low tricks, high tricks, body moves, bounces, stops etc.

- write out what you can do, and try stringing them together, mixing tricks of various types together.

- practice the transitions between tricks and go for a seamless flow.

- put it to music and play about with the tricks to fit.

- a good routine probably shouldn't be more than a few minutes. After then, do something else (juggling something else, magic, CJ or whatever).
