This is probably a silly question, but when I twist a lot of balloons over the course of two days, the fingers that I use to tie knots will blister. Is there a RIGHT way to tie balloons, because I want to make sure that I'm not doing something fundamentally dumb here.
Any help is greatly appreciated. |

There is a better way to tie knots. Less stress on the fingers. It is on my DVD's if you have them. See the twist menu.
Baby powder will also save your hands too.

What I got the least expensive DVDs on the Market, $24.99 each and each one will make you more than 10 times that amount of money.
What is up with my Kazoo???? doesn't everyone carry one?

As soon as I can I will start working and re invest that money back into ballooning that will be when I am able to start buying things other than balloons which is all my wife is letting me get now.I am lucky shes letting me do that hahah.Of course when season picks back up I'll be carving ice agian and I can spend that money on whatever.Either way you must be patient.I am sure I want to buy your dvd's more than you want to sell them. Edit: Sorry to derail your thread.I have no clue about better tying methods or anything that may help blisters.Maybe gloves?I just read about twisting with gloves on the balloonhq site. |

Okay I am a Closet Kazoo-ist!!!!!
Kevin I might have kazooed during the shark ... then again I must of used the music. Tableside I'll use the Kazoo to embellish a hat. Jaws theme, Queen's entrance music for a Crown, Happy Birthday ..... In my DVDs I use a kazoo while in the Duck scene.....

Oh yeah I recall the kazoo on the duck.. You did also act like shooting a gun while making that duck in the boat... Not sure that's leaving a good image for the balloon Obam supporters..
Never quite grasped why you make the eyes so complicated on the duck either... |

That's not me, but I agree he is good!
When I first fired up mark's DvD(s), I was paying close attention to the details like the baloon holding pouches and stuff, since I am new to this all the little details are interesting to me. I spotted the kazoo in the pouch immediately and thought he was going to use it for some kind of audible inflate or something... lol Good stuff! I love the duck eyes

Look at my portfolio on BalloonHQ (click portfolio on my website to get there the quickest)
There you can see how I load my pouch and separate my balloons. The duck eyes were meant for advanced users, still can make the whole thing start to finish within 2 min. You can always just draw eyes on it too.

I would say, without any reservations, that mark's "duck eyes" are one of the best balloon features I have ever seen. You really confuse me. |

But moving eyes in balloon for eyes.. Well.. Yes I have.. With balls, balloons as well... (are you on balloon hq??? You should really look into this.. buy some other videos as well)I just didn't see the point in wrapping the eyes in the black balloon so many times. I am not ripping on Mark I like his stuff a lot and have met Mark. He is a good guy and a REAL working full time performer. To be frank with you I think Mark is one of the fastest balloon twisters out there! He is also a pretty dang good magician and artist! I still watch Marks DVD's I reccomend them to anyone in the business! |

Mark,
I tied the balloons the way you instruct on your video all weekend. You were right. This is Much better. Way less fatigue. A note on the duck hat. I do like the googly eyes. Another thing that I tried today is making the duck with a black body and twisting a white heart down the middle of the bumps and pushing it through (bumps upward) for the eyes. The eyes stand up in a sort of surprised expression. Draw on some pupils and it looks like Daffy. Kids love it. Quote:
