Hello there. I'd love to do a signed silk to impossible location but being silks a bit expensive I'd like to know if any of you has experimented with disappearing ink or something like that?

Are you talking about for walk around shows?

A small 9" silk for a stage show is not that large of a loss.

I am not aware of anyway to get the ink or marker out of a silk. I guess you would just have to buy a new one for each show.

Rarely I do the Silk to Apple and I give it as a souvenir! The kid that receive the silk gives more value to that hankie than you think! Charge the price of the silk to your client!
My best wishes...

I perform a signed silk to marker that spectator use to sign the silk and keeps it in his hands all the time. That is a very strong effect based on Alexander De Cova Bill to Marker effect. If you think it is too expensive to use a new silk for each show try PILOT marker that has disappearing ink. Just heat the silk after the show.

Best,
Bojan

You can get 12" silks for $3.00 each and 6" silks for $1.50. Surely you can make that up in your show fees...

For that we use 36 inch Dollar Store "silks" and give them to the signer at the conclusion of the trick. See Eleazar Goodenough's "Every Century Silks" in The Wizards' Journal #8 on my site where the signed silk is "Vandalized" first, and finally restored. We would never do that with real silks, but Dollar Store "silks" work fine for that effect.

For silk to Sharpie pen tip (6") try $1.25
TT (Impossible Locations) (9") try $1.50
Dye Tubes (personalize) (12") try $2.00

It is cheaper than ruining a deck of cards!
