They are not all the same, some are easy set up’s and some time consuming,

I'm pretty sure that the description in the 'Big Book' is either slightly wrong or one of the drawings is incorrect. I remember there was something about it that needed to be altered to make it work. It might have been the way/direction that the paper is folded up to create the pocket or the placement of the torn pieces or the rotation of the packet after the tears as I vaguely recall it rotates both left and right depending on which tear you've just made? I remember learning about this effect was part of a magic evening at our local magic club. I don't think I have the book anymore to look for the anomaly. But if you find yourself trying it and struggling this could be why.

I was starting to think it was just me. I keep ending up in completely the wrong position for any kind of flash restoration!

I learned The 10 Second Paper Tear from The Big Book of Magic and the DVD. The DVD is available from https://patrickpagemagic.co.uk/. Note: the DVD is in PAL format.

Here is a video posted by Patrick Page's daughter , of Pat performing his "10 Second Torn & Restored Newspaper", for anyone interested in seeing what it looks like. The flash restoration at the end is quite good. (makes up for the "tulips from 'amster jam" joke!)

The DVD on how to prepare and perform it is available from https://patrickpagemagic.co.uk/product/t......ck-page/

They specify that DVD is in PAL format that "should work on most PC and Mac computers and of course DVD players that play PAL version DVDs."

The description (and photos) of how to prepare it is much clearer in the book 'Magic Page by Page' (which is a great book, well worth having).
