I attended Jay Sankey's lecture in Indianapolis last night. First I want to say I have been a GINORMOUS fan of Jay's for years. I have purchased many of his products/DVDs for the last 7 years or more and have come to expect not only good solid material and consistant quality products but also an entertaining and thorough teacher.
I had a high expectation for this lecture and I was not disappointed. It started at 7 pm. Since I own many of Jay's DVDs I was actually expecting to see material shared that I had already owned. This was NOT the case. I walked away with multiple items I had not already owned. Since he has a great wealth of material to chose from and I do not own every item or every DVD he has put out...I was destined to get something I had not seen. I did walk away with material that I not only did not own but will definately use. All of the material shared were items from one DVD or another, but again...he pulled items both older and new. So there definately was something there for everyone (assuming you do not own every DVD he has put out). Even if that were the case...if you are THAT big of a fan, watching him lecture and interact is more than worth the $25. I will no go into great detail about what effects were shown. My review is more about value and professionalism. Two hours of usable material insight and energy. I can sit and watch Jay perform all night. Each trick he taught was strong enough that if you only walked away learning one new effect that would have been worth the entire lecture. The material was basic and easy to do...but equally strong as the most complicated move or slight. He did not offer lecture notes..but everything he shown this evening was offered on material he sold at the lecture. Let me tell you...the items sold, what a bargain. Many items were half off. His book $15. Several videos for $15 to $20 each. He had a sale going on last night I could not pass up. The only problem was he ran out of some of the DVD's for that lecture or I would have purchased more... ***. The prices were so good that if you see something at the lecture you want...DO NOT wait until the end to pick it up. LOL After Jay went through his material, answered all questions...he graciously sign items take photographs and stayed to talk shop with fans. He was on time. Delivered a two hour lecture that was well worth the price, he was so humble and gracious to be there. He was extrememly complimentary to the people he met and just a complete joy to both watch and meet. I could not recommend him enough. Five out of five stars for usable lecture content, items (and prices!!!!) offered to public, professionalism and down right nice human being. Thank you Jay and to the folks who made the Indianapolis lecture a reality. I will be attending the Michael Ammar lecture there as well. For now...I am soaking up the DVD's I purchased and looking forward to Wed's Banachek lecture!!! |
