Here in Honolulu, there is controversy about those street-performers who ply their trade in the area around Waikiki Beach. Among them is a BALLOONIST who is quite successful financially. The tourists enjoy those performers but it's the indigenous residents that get irritated because of the noise which continues after midnight. As the law stands, though, they are legal and have to be tolerated as long as the performers take only DONATIONS instead of a set price. As far as the irritant of the Noise, the BALLOONIST is quiet when compared with some other performers,e.g., the musicians.

I was in Honolulu last August on vacation, and I met a couple of the balloon folks out on the street. I don't remember seeing any homes or apartments on the street where all of the street performers were. If my memory serves correctly, the balloon artists were some of the more quiet performers. The only ones that I can remember that were quieter were the human statues. But, what do I know, I'm just a tourist!
