I was thinking about putting in a rubber band routine for my competition in Daytona. Should I even think about putting it in or just skip it and do something else ?

It might be worth if you can come up with something creative and fun. I like rubberband magic, it's pretty fun to do.

Rubber band magic is much overlooked. It is practical, visual, and a natural for walk around and strollers. I would think it could be a great addition to any act. It also does not need a table or close up mat.

Its great for real-world and one of the best tricks ever in a magician's arsenal, but for that exact reason, it is very common in magicians repertoires and so doesn't feature highly in competition magic.
But if its a club competition and depending on the other competitors acts, it may place. It just doesn't seem to bold well at the big conventions, as was proven by Russell Leeds at Blackpool this year and myself at the IBM. A cups and balls routine will always beat it due to the multiple kicker endings that elastic bands lack. Steve |

Ed Ellis' rubber band routines are very helpful.
