There are reviews in the latest and greatest section. What don't you like about it?

I think the idea that you borrow someone's phone and take a picture without knowing the shutter speed would make you look like your doing something. This just doesn't seem practical to me to borrow phones and expect to be able to do the move required without having to take the same pic more than once.

There is another method offered on the DVD to get around that. In addition, you can just use your own phone.

Well the crux of the decsion to purchase this was based on the ability to borrow a phone. I just don't think that it for me I guess. I will never do this...

On the video Christopher explains he works for drunk people. After practicing and performing this for real people I can see why. The sleights are dead easy, the subtleties make this kind of unrealistic for anyone who isn't wasted. I think the motivation is lacking...why are you taking my phone to take a picture of the card again?
Anyway...all my opinions. |

Yeah my tried this on my wife just now too. She has an iPhone and I use this and am familiar with the shutter speed. She looked at me like I was an idiot....she asked if I was kidding...mind you, I have practiced this over and over again to ensure I wasnt messing up. Angles, everything accounted for....

I mean, I'm not going to do ring flight when the room is dead silent for fear something will be heard. I've only peformed digital conviction when there is a small group of people and things are busy around me to provide more misdirection. |

I can't remember what this guy's name is...frankly I really don't care.
No, didn't perform it poorly. in fact, I went out of my way to add a half pass to replace them move needed and I do that very well. I've been performing for years so my performance should not be an issue. I have problems with 1) the scripting motivation they way this is done. 2) I just can't get over the fact that he tells you to do the move as you take the picture. My wife is perceptive and so D****e W*****g is not something that you can pull off with her easily. |

Ritty not for nothing but I have been on that boat.. The D W part that you are referring too would do no Justice to do on your wife because you should know without a doubt what her name is so the People management there wouldn't work without getting into a fight. But I see it no different then a Top change or a pass done on an off beat.. My issues is I am left handed.. Other then that the Move is bold and actually challenging. The effect can and will work if the time is taking to get that move swift.. I plan on doing it after I ask them to hold there hand out.. After that they have no reason to think anything different... Its one of those "Why run if your not being chased?"... give it a few more shots.. I think you will like the results on People you don't know..

Frankly I could see that ritty. I still like the effect, I think its a good idea and if nothing else to pushes forward "camera phone" tricks as many of the previous ones where not very good. that said, I'm not panting over it many here as I could foresee some issue on "some" people.

You should be able to pull of d****e w*****g on anyone if you vary your subtleties, think Andy Nyman here. 3. I don't own this effect so you can disregard my opinion if you want.

The basic tool for the manipulation of reality is the manipulation of words. If you can control the meaning of words, you can control the people who must use the words.

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone here for their interest, purchase, and support. Secondly, Ritty, I am sorry that this effect is not working out for you. As Mario and others have stated, I do address the issues you are having on the DVD. This does require some practice and common sense to pull off. You seem like you need some help. I will do my best to address some of your issues with digi con.

I address the motivation and benefits of performing this effect on the DVD. To tell you the truth, In magic, it is really hard to find any serious and logical motivation for anything we do... come to think of it, life in general is the same way. As for "performing for drunk people", I put that in the bonus section for what to do when someone drops your cards. I point this out because it is hard to demo someone dropping your cards as it is a chance thing... but it has nothing to do with Digital Conviction effect. Quote:

Anyway, like I said, I do consider "Christopher" to be a very interesting hit of sorts.. true story, "Christopher" was going to be my original first name but my mother opted to go for Robert instead. She told me it was because "Chris Smith" sounds like "Christmas" and rather than have a childhood filled with mockery of my name, especially in relation to one of the most joyous times of the year a kid could have, she chose Bob Smith instead. On a side note, upon finding out that my birth wasnt planned, I asked my father if I was a mistake.. his response was "no... you were a surprise!" Enough about me though, I'm glad you can do your half pass very well. The fact that I tell you to do the move as you take the picture is necessary. Im sorry that you cant get over this but common sense comes into play here. If you do it before or after the moment then it would not work. If you do not feel comfortable with that then I offer a much safer way of doing it as well, but if your half pass is as good as you say it is then you should have no problems with this. As for dw-ing your wife, common sense comes into play again. As Paisa pointed out, doing it the way I teach on the DVD is not going to work for her. To tell you the truth, dw is very easy.. just ask a question as you do it. I hope this helps out. I would suggest using the "easier" method when borrowing phones.. to laymen its the same effect. I appreciate you giving it a few more tries and remember... its YOU that engages and entertains them, the trick is just kind of an extension of yourself. Peace, bSmith |

Any options for lefties? It's harder to pull it off with the deck on your right hand.

I think it is a good effect when you have the right tools, my blackberry flip doesn't seem to work. But it works with a digital camera, it's just that I don't carry the digital cam with me.
