I firmly believe that our youth members, as the future of the I.B.M.,are our greatest treasure. I'd like to see the Brotherhood become more active in offering direct guidance, magic education and life-building opportunities to this segment of our membership.

I would very much like to hear from our youth members. What would you like to see from Magic Youth International? What should we pump into this program to make it work for you? How can we make M.Y.I. the go-to program for teens with a serious interest in the magical arts? How can we open the doors to magic wider for boys and girls alike?

Please let us hear your thoughts. We are listening! The map is laid out. Tell us where you want to go!

I'm not a member yet of the MYI but when I become one I would like to see it segregated into varying difficulties so a more advanced person could advance more. Please correct me if this already happens because I don't know everything about the society yet.

Thanks Smile

Sam

Every suggestion is welcome, Sam! We're looking at creating a series of structured, mentored lessons for beginners, intermediates and advanced students in a variety of disciplines (Cards, Close-Up, Strolling, Cabaret, Illusion, Stagecraft, etc.)

You're on the right track!

Awesome! That sounds great...

I hope I can save up my money to join!

P.S. Is it geared towards older age groups too like sixteen as well as the younger kids?

It often depends on the local group, Sam. Our group has kids from 6 through 17. In fact, our 17 year old member has just been nominated as the adult Ring's sergeant at arms and will do a great job. The older, more experienced teens mentor the younger beginners. Our 6-year-old is already a self-taught and accomplished close-up artist with a flawless coin matrix. Although we'll provide the basic platform, each youth affiliate will adapt to the needs and abilities of the sponsoring Ring.

Also, as a youth member, you'll receive The Linking Ring magazine and the youth Top Hat Topics online journal.

Oh okay cool so I would sort of be the mentor in some cases...

How old do you have to be to join IBM?

I.B.M. applicants need two active member sponsors to join. A simple thing. Don't let it worry you. When you're ready to join, drop me a note and I'll arrange your sponsorship. Smile
