Hello everyone,
In the video "reparation", Jonh Lovick made a great appearance of a glass full of liquid under the cover of a silk. I want to know if it is a trick that is on the dealers, or in which book or video I may learn it. Thanks! |

I've seen something like it in Lennart Green's Green Magic Vol 1, let me know if I'm right.

Yes, I think you are.
I have been with lennart 3 months ago and he showed me his gimmick. It the Juan Pablo gimmick for the production of the bottle. Regards |

I haven't seen that particular effect at the dealers, but I do know that Richard Osterland put out a booklet called "Three Miracle Routines". One of the routines was the production of a full glass of ice water from a paper bag that has been inspected and is being held by two spectators. I got a copy from Jeff Busby magic.

The trick you said has been performed on TV by Luis de Matos and Paul Daniels.
A great trick indeed. Yet, not the same I talked before. |

It's in Lovick's "Skinny Lecture Notes". Not much detail. Basically, he covers the beginning of the routine, the finger counting gag, as misdirection to steal the glass.

German magician Joerg Willich, a member of the "Flicking Fingers", described an effect in his first lecture notes where he produces a filled glass from one of his shoes.
I showed it im my program for a while and always got great reactions.

Could you tell us more details Thorsten?
Is it magically enough? I know many people do the production from shoe, but... a cup full of drink, I think it is COOL! Michael Lam

Although the one John Lovick performs in reparation is in described in the skinny lecture notes and also his what's the rumpus, i think he leaves part of it out. But this is stuff you should be able to figure out on your own.
In those notes he covers a bottle steal not a glass, but if you play around with it you can figure out how to do a glass as well. If you notice in the video he produces a high ball glass (tall skinny kind), this is similar to the shape of a bottle and works well. I have toyed around with this quite a bit and I love it. If you want more info, either post here or PM me. oliver |

The "Ice Cold" prank (seen at Hank Lee's) could also be a nice addition to the appearing glass

The Osterlind routine sounds like a great and fun presentation. Can it be performed in a strolling situation |

The Osterlind routine is not practical for strolling as you can't have anyone behind you.

The routine taught in the Flicking Fingers DVD called Cognitive Orange Juice is beautiful. =) It's like that you described, full production of a glass of whatever with the momentary cover of a silk. Best part is there are no gimmicks.
