These are pretty cool! At $3.00 a bag they should be!
Anyone have any ideals on some effects with them? Them, being the bag alone or the beans. As of now, I use the bag to carry around some gaffed coins and have an appearing wand in it. Oh Yea, and a TT.

I like the idea but haven't seen them.
Where are they available? |

I found them at Toys R Us. They also have the chocolate frogs from the movie. OH, and beware they really do have vomit flavor, sardine, booger, earwax and spinach.

They have a picture of all the flavors. I thought it was a joke, but the joke was on me!
Curiousity made me try the others!

Borders sells "refills" on boxes with 4 new flavors. (my 7-year-old daughter asked how there can be new flavors if their already every flavor). Pepper is what it says, and I haven't tried the rest, but my children keep tempting each other.
On the original topic, a (multiple)predicition would be nice or frankly just a production for a lucky volunteer...

How about sewing in a dividing wall, so that the bag is of two compartments. Put all the nice flavors on one side, and all the gross ones on the other side. Then you can play a little game of Jelly bean Russian Roulette, where you have control over the outcome.

How about a version of Maven's Kurotsuke, in which you demonstrate your unique ability to always discern who holds the "earwax."
Or similarly, a bank-night effect in which everybody removes a bean and leaves one for you; of course, you always get the icky one.

These things are great! They really all do taste like what they're supposed to, especially the dirt. I don't mind the spinach though, I like spinach

I had thought of the divider wall so I could get rid of all the bad ones.
Thanks for all the help so far.

I don't have any ideas on how to use these - I steer clear of them after eating a box. Make that about half a box. The memory of the "grass" flavor still gives me chills. However, for those who want to experiment with them on a budget, Target stores were stocking them at .50 cents a box, a couple weeks ago. At that price you could make up a "vomit" force box and go shake up the neighborhood kids.

Mike Bent had a kid's prediction routine using the bag of these jelly beans in a recent issue of MAGIC magazine in David Kaye's column. It is worth checking out, if you are considering a routine with these so you don't end up re-inventing the wheel. Mike has put some good thought into his version.

How about using one of the bags to hold a three shell game? You play the game to screen for potential wizards for admission to Hogwarts, and of course, the child always 'wins'. If you feel comfortable doing so, maybe load a shell you've moved to the rear of your performing area with a real jelly bean or two, after their attention is misdirected to a front shell or one covered with a glass, etc.

How are you going to find out which bean is which flavour without licking them first?
I've seen these before (they were selling them at the cinema when I went to see the first Harry Potter film) The only way round this, I suppose is to have the split compartment as previously suggested and putting 'normal' jelly beans in your half. |

Icky Yucky GROSS! Vomit smells worse then it tastes. Dirt taste like potting soil. Earwax & sardine are just plain disgusting! I don't know how you could use them in magic though! (except for Ideas already mentioned)

The routine for kids in MAGIC is great! I used it at a family reunion show and it went over well. The only problem is that it relies on getting a quanity of peppermint flavored to force and I have found it nearly impossible to find anywhere that peppermint flavored are sold in bulk like the other flavors are.
