Well.. the cuts began immediately upon the arrival of the acts in Las Vegas with two magic acts being sent home before they even have a chance to perform again. Joseph Constantine & KC made it slightly farther than Jay Mattioli when the judges say that there isn't room for two magicians in the quarter finals. Um.. what about Nathan Burton? I personally find this insaine, and stupid. They put some acts that WONT win through, and don't even give people like jay a shot! He could have won!

and me, I just don't like the judges, I think they should have 3 judges that have talent, like a famous singer, a dancer and a variety act judge.

It's TV and you can't apply logic to it. They have in mind what type of act they want to win, long before the first show. They then tailor the shows to that vision.

Exactly. In my opninion, Drew has no shot to win this at all. I was putting my money on Jay, but they got rid of him FIRST thing! I couldn't believe what I was seeing, and Jay must be pretty dissapointed. I wanted to see what he had for us next, not get voted off before he had a chance. He was better then Constantine, at least.

Good luck Drew. Your going to need it with those judges.

Jay was cut en-masse with a group of 20 other acts.. none of which performed.

No way! I can't believe they would do that!

Yeah.. it was the opening of the show and Jay was in the first group to get cut. I posted some excerpts with Drew Thomas & Constantine at MagicNewswire.com but here is a link to the complete episode:

They were saying they don't have room for 2 magicians and they said to Mr.Contantine and drew that they were basicially the same act, watch it over again. But they are not even close! 2 DIFFERENT magicians, with 2 DIFFERENT styles, and a TOTALLY DIFFERENT show. even with jay in there it would have still been completely different.

I'll be anything that there is 2+ singers on there, or dancers, are they the same act? no...but they do the same thing. so should they have room for more than one?

I'm starting to not like this show.

That's really a shame. Very disappointing.

I'll bet that Jay had something really special planned for that second opportunity.

Yep, caught that. Such a shame. I honestly think he had a shot at it. He's a hard worker and a very creative guy. Wish they gave him the chance to prove himself with a second performance.

I was completely stunned at the shows decision to discard a fourth of the competitors. Why even bring them to Vegas if they planned on getting rid of them right away?

Jay had the best shot out of all the magicians to win this thing, and now he's gone. I don't know if I'll watch it anymore.

Does anyone honestly believe this is a "competition"?

I mean put aside the irony of the Knight Rider and Ozzy's wife telling people they have no talent. If you can get past that part, do you really think this is some sort of competition in any way other than to get good ratings for the TV show?

I can think of 4 acts I know of personally who are working steady in NACA who did not even make it. One Acapella group which is busier than a one legged man in a but kicking contest.

I think the show as a whole is nonsense. They prove it constantly by who they send home.
