I got attacked by a turkey yesterday. There are several wild turkies that roam around my house and one recently had little turklets. I was, like a big moron, trying to take some pictures of the little fellas running around my yard. I was keeping my distance and momma seemed only slightly upset. There were probably 6 or 7 little turkies, but I glanced at momma and only saw 3 running around her feet. Odd, I thought; where were the others? Cheep cheep. I look down and not 2 feet away were the missing turklets. Unfortunately, momma noticed too and "charged", if that's what you'd call what turkey moms do. She spread her feathers and came at me. I quickly retreated, not wanting to get pecked (I was pecked by a flock of geese when I was little, bad memories), but she kept coming, until eventually I slipped in some mud. Even then, she kept running. I barely escaped with my life.

Nice story. Why don't you shoot the little ****** and eat him for your meals over the course of a couple days. Andrew |
