Hey,
Would you guys recommend this? I have tried searching for it but you can't use more than six keywords on the search bar so I'm just going to ask here. Does it give you good advice for a person just starting in restaurant magic? If not what else do you recommend. Thank you, Ricky |

I highly recommend it. It has great advice everything from tips to getting a restaurant gig, what criteria to look for in tricks, dealing with stage fright, getting more applause, approaching tables, different types of spectators and soooooooooooooooo much more.
other things id recommend are his 2 dvds on the subject, Jay Sankeys real work restaurants and bars. Although I don't own them I hear that the magic menu series is very good as is Jim Paces restaurant workers hand book. something else you might want to consider since you don't live in the U.S. (like me) is that I found that advice (restaurant advice) from European magicians had slightly more relevance to me than from North American ones just because of the diner attitudes and types of restaurants that we have here in Australia. Hope this helps Liam |

I've just finished this book and it's great. The sections on table/group leaders and how to respect their space was insightful. liampower is right though it's quite European-centric in the details.
So much information contained in it, yet it flies by. Definitely have to give it a second thorough read |

The book is a must read for the restaurant worker!! Btw, if you would like to know more about the subject, "Live in the jailhouse" is another good DVD that many pros talk about their thoughts and prop management and tricks.

The David Stone book is one of the books that I keep going back to for advice on the business and etiquette topics of magic. Keep in mind that there are no tricks or sleights taught in it. Just good solid advice on everything else.
Highly Recommended Dan |

Great book, better for non North-American workers.
Actually makes me want to work in Europe.
