Not so sure I'd want to be the guy taking over after Criss. Millions of people have seen Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. How many of them can name any of the Phantom actors that came after Michael Crawford? I say burn it to the ground, **** on the ashes and move on.

It really dosen't matter who comes in after Criss. As a matter of fact they would be better off not using a magician. The show is not a magic show but rather a Cirque show that has some magic in it. Just like Phantom. There is some magic in the show but it is used as part of the script. As far as the other actors after Michael Crawford, it's not about the actor but the show.

Pepka
Timothy Nolen Cris Groenendaal Steve Barton Mark Jacoby Brad Little David Gaschen Kevin Gray Marcus Lovett Davis Gaines Thomas James O'Leary Hugh Panaro James Romick Howard McGillin Gary Mauer John Cudia over the course of 20+ years! OK, I realize that most people can't name any Phantom replacements... but as gulamerian mentions it is the show, or more to the point, a good performance of the character that makes the show work. |

IMHO if that video is published I assume that the guillotine was supposed to be part of the show. If it's not publish, we'll be hearing it from the news and at that time it's true for sure...

I'm pretty sure this was just a publicity stunt.

Kevin, if you were able to name HALF of those without looking them up, you must be the biggest Phantom fan there is. If you DID look any of them up just to prove a point, you have waaaaaaay too much time on your hands.

Well, I'm not Kevin, but I do have a long association with the show and many people in it... I didn't even mention any of the guys from the LA, Chicago, San Francisco, or touring productions! So yeah, I guess I am (one of the) biggest fans of the show!

The vide is FAKE its not anatomically correct. if neck is cut no air passes out of vocal cord or out of mouth. I'll be More Impressed with Criss if he'll come up with things on his own. and to quit hiring Consultants.

I don't believe that it cut the guys neck off. I think criss just stated that it was ****ing his neck. I would venture that at the most it was barely in the guys neck. What can you say criss has a small blade. LOL!!!!

I don't think that Criss is trying to appeal to parents and the young demographic so I don't think he cares "how many parents want to take their kids to something where the F word is used". Cirque goes for a "family" demo in their other shows but I think they're after Criss's base of "loyals" in the pre-teen, teen and young adult demographic for his Cirque show.

I don't think the Cirque organization is too thrilled with Criss. I think it's just a matter of time.

The other week they closed the show down for a couple weeks to add more magic. We'll see what happens...

No, Paul was not in the Broadway production of Phantom, he was in the Toronto production and he was TERRIBLE in the role! That's two hours and forty minutes of my life I'll never get back! LOL

A bit off the subject Frank, but since we're mentioning celebs in Phantom....did you ever see Robert Guillaume?

Beyond Fake. Karma is getting back at angel now at his horrible show that is bombing. I feel bad for the Luxor though. They have a 10 year contract or something.
