I thought some of you maybe interested in seeing this.
Since the video was filmed I have been able to remove the jog on the cut card. So the cards can be cut onto the cut card and you complete the cut and execute the move while leaving the cut card on the bottom. http://brentbraunmagic.squarespace.com/b......tion=342 Brent Braun |

Although I personally wouldn't use it in a real game I love doing this one myself!
Looked pretty good man! MMc |

That looked great... whenever I have seen that pass done before it was always done fast but you provide just the right cover which enables doing in at a slower pace .. I also liked the fast version ... liked it a lot

That was one of the coolest things that I have seen on the web in a long time. Very Nice!
Just my opinion.

The idea of using this pass in conjunction with a cut card is excellent.
Congrats!

Just a heads up guys. As I mentioned in the original post.
I am now able to completely remove the jog when the cards are placed on the cut card. Once the player cuts the cards onto the cut card squarely I complete the cut and slide both packets backward on the cut card. This is covered by the forward jog of the top packet. I then do the move. This may send a few cards from the center of the deck to the bottom but it keeps the top stock intact which is the important part. I might try to film it if some of you are interested. Thanks, Brent Braun |

You do this move pretty good. Keep up the good work.
Readers this move can't basically be done any better than he's doing it. I know I've been doing this move for years now; now I only do it for demonstration purposes. The move does work at the card table but magicians love it because it looks fancy like you've got great skills as a gambler. Take care Doc |

Sorry I have not had time to film the cut card without the jog life has been hectic.
I agree 100% with what Doc has to say. This is a move that fascinates magicians because when performed properly it just feels right. The cards do what they want to do. The rotation of the deck would seem out of place at a card table and even if performed perfectly would still seem suspect. Although I rank this move really high on the "show of skill and fun to perform meter" Doc, When you perform this shift do you raise the front packet as taught in the Vernon book? I have seen people do it both ways and I have chosen to eliminate that standing up of the front packet to eliminate flashing the bottom card? Brent Braun |

I'm so sorry for the late response but I don't frequent here as much as I used to and to answer your question no I don't. The flashing of the bottom card of the deck to me is not acceptable in any card game unless you're playing head-up and you want the sucker or jap-wise player to think that you're the sucker because you don't know how to protect flashing the bottom card.
I once saw Doug Edwards do this move to some spectators in Tannen's many years ago and told him that it was wrong even though he did it exactly how Dai Vernon demonstrated it. To me flashing the bottom portion of the deck was invented or done to shield the bottom portion moving to the top which is absolutely unneccessary when the move is done correctly as you're doing it; I also do the move with the cut card keeping it intact. Keep up the good work. Respectfully, Doc |
