I just received from Stevens Magic a great set of bills for six bill repeat, made by Harold Voit. Seems to me this old classic is ripe for revival in light of the international financial crisis and the fact that the US is printing money at a rapid rate. I'm working on a story line to fit the times.
But the problem is: how do you bring it to a logical conclusion. This set, made with realistic $100 dollar bills, allows you to start with six $100 dollar bills, throw away $300 four times, and still have six hundred dollar bills left. I would appreciate any ideas on what to say or do after you've done all that. You're left holding the six $100 bills ...then what? The only idea I've had is to switch them for flash bills and set them off, with some remark about all of this new money may not amount to much in the end. Or ring in a giant $100 bill with some remark about how this is bound to lead to inflation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

That sounds good. The giant reuseable bill sounds more economical unless you can REALLY toss cash away and have it reappear.

Maybe you can prefold them as the ending for osaka bills.
do your 6 bill repeat routine, when youre left with the 6 bills, you can use this as an ending for osaka bills as a bill fan or a silk $100 bill |

I just posted the following about 10 minutes in answer to a similar question, only in this case the performer wanted to end up with a "Jumbo Bill" Tate I used to make the expanding bill for Paul Diamond many years ago. If I were making them today I would have them printed on the face in large black letters with: "IRS BILL"! or "TAX BILL". Your patter could center around how you finally thought you had figured out how to beat inflation and all the rising taxes with your six special bills that never seemed to run out. Unfortunately one day one of Uncle Sam's agents showed up at your front door with a bill for you..it was a giant "TAX BILL". Just a thought about a way to introduce the Jumbo Bill into a routine of six bill repeat and the Jumbo Tax Bill should get a good response at the end. If you have a PC with a printer you could print "TAX BILL" on any Jumbo Bills you have access to. I see them in the "Dollar Tree" all the time. And everything is just a dollar there. You might even work the patter along the lines of your wife's habit of buying everything at the "Dollar Tree", so you gave her the six special bills to go shopping with at the "Dollar Tree". Unfortunately she spent more at the "Dollar Tree" than you reported as income, so an IRS Agent showed up at your door demanding to see one of the bills. You folded it up, handed it to him, and when he opened it "voila" he presented you with a "GIANT BILL FOR BACK TAXES". Just a few rambling thoughts. Good luck to you. This may give you some help. |

I have the original Six Bill Repeat routine put out by DeVoe Magic Den years ago. If interested I will sell for $5.00. It is a story type of routine about a magician and his other spending his show earnings.
The success of the 6 Bill Repeat is the concise wording matching the actions of the magician with the bills. The above ideas are excellent and would bring the routine up to date. The exact words is the important thing. This routine must have a rhythm to the actions and words. |
