It's been a while since I've been here...I miss it.
Anyhow, I...and several others...are planning a new event in the San Francisco Bay Area called the Great Pan-Kinetc Exposition (due to open in April 2010)! The show is a re-enactment of a 1905 world's fair that will be populated by figures of the day (Teddy Roosevelt, Nikola Tesla, Sarah Bernhardt, etc.) We are hoping to have the world of magic represented in the show. We're looking for some talented magicians to portray 1 or more of the following: Harry Houdini (& a Bess would be awesome) Chung Ling Soo Charles J. Carter (aka Carter "The Great") Howard Thurston Harry Blackstone Sr. This would be a paid gig...Rates negotiable. We will have a "day show" portion...perfect for both stage performances and close-up work. We're also looking for someone to fit into our "evening show" (which we hope to feature some grand illusions with other acts...burlesque? a band?). We're really hunting for a top notch Houdini...if possible. It would be a plus if potential illusionists are local to the San Francisco Bay Area...but it's not a requirement. We're willing to talk things through. If any of you, or someone you know, may be interested in this opportunity...please contact our Entertainment Director, Cat Taylor, at: cat@cattaylor.com. You might want to post this in the themed magic section, as well.
