Hi evrybody,
few year before I was at Ripley's belive it or not in Kuala Lumpul ( Malaysia), I saw an Intersting optical illusion, it was like an Hologram or mirage , but it was not like the classic mirage effect: http://gizmodo.com/239692/mirage-3d-holo......required it was't maded whit the classic two plate mirrors, it was iside a wall , it was looking like a dark hole in the wall whit a floating jewel ring at mid air , that ring was an Hologram , it was immpossible to catch,( no smoke nothing, and in a full wiew), I was looking inside at this hole but I did't see any glass plate ( like pepper ghost) or mirror the iside part was comletly dark, but whit a tunnel hole in the down part of this big hole in te wall, of couse the hologram was starting from that way, but how? It was Amazing a small dark hole in the wall and a floating ring at mid air , somebody know this way to produce an hologram? Thanks. |

Fabrice,
I believe you may be looking for a more complex version of the convex mirror illusion. Disney & Universal studios have both incorporated this new version into attractions recently. Here is a simple diagram of the illusion. http://jedlik.phy.bme.hu/~hartlein/www.m......5+15.JPG Used with bright HD LCD screens instead of actual objects lets you get a very solid and bright effect in a darkened area. Hope this helps. |

No Laszlo are not the two versions,
the first is the classic, the second one is not really a 3d hologram( I saw some version of it live) form an English company Musion, but any way it look more close to our old pepper ghost than a real 3d hologram, and I don't like it too much I prefer too much the 2Augumenteted Reality", here a link from the great "Marco Tempest": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mk1xjbA-ISE about Chase I think is close to your version but not really this, I didn't see any concave mirror visible, maybe it was concealed under the hole in the black wall, I don't know how but it was Amazing! |
