This Vanishing and Appearing Glass is one that I'm considering in a production act I'm working on which several items will appear from a bag. I'll be performing it on stage and at banquets. The same company also markets Vanishing and Appearing Coke Bottles and now a Vanishing And Appearing Pitcher. Here is the page with these items on their website http://trickproduction.com/stage/index.html
I have three questions which I would very much appreciate input on: 1. For the bottles which is more realistic, the empty or painted cola version? 2. What are your experiences with these items? 3. Have you seen their pitcher, have one or know of a video for the pitcher? Thanks, Bruce

I have this companies vanishing glass. It is a near perfect replica of a glass that use to be on the market in America. It is very realistic looking.
The only tip I can offer is that you must use a gentle grip on the glass. If it is handled properly, there is no reason anyone would not think it is anything but what it looks like. Liquid can be poured into the glass. This material has better recovery then the Nielsen bottles. Can more flexibility for the vanish in a paper sack/bag. |

If you want something that will vanish up to four REAL glasses, each filled with liquid, by covering them with newspaper (from the T&R newspaper if you wish to routine them together) and tossing them into the air, check out Upchurch's Double Vanishing Glasses in Jim Gerrish's Hardboard and Duct Tape Book 2 on my site.
When Jim and I used to perform this together on the stage, (he as magician and myself as assistant) we enjoyed fooling the know-it-alls and magicians in the audience who were sure they knew about the tray method from having or seeing Vanishing Bowls of water performed. Jim would take the glasses and toss them into the air for the vanish while I held the tray for him. Then he would catch the newspaper, tear it up and ball it up to toss to me, at which point I would tilt the tray back up and catch the paper on the tray before walking off. Jim's e-Book describes that routine, and his new improvements make it possible to do with as many glasses as you can gather and hold between your two hands.

This is the type of input I am looking for and you've put the glass on my order form The Nielsen bottles don't compress as much as I need though they are beautiful and come in a vairety of styles. In fact, I own a couple. Anyone know anything about the "trickproduction.com" bottles? Thanks, Bruce

How compressible are you looking for? I have the coke bottle and once crumpled in a standard size lunch paper bag its about the size of a tennis ball.

I have owned a couple of these TrickProduction vanishing glasses. (Sadly, no longer made) They are still usable, except over time the material has discolored with a slightly yellowish tint. Also, it's a small (8 oz) tumbler. Would be nice to also have such a glass in a larger 16 oz (pint) size (more visible from a distance) like the classic Libbey paneled 16 oz glass.
Henry Harrius makes excellent vanishing bottles . It would be great if Harrius's company would also make a vanishing glass like this: This is what the TrickProduction glass looks like (although in my experience over time it gets a slight yellowish tint, no longer completely clear) - |
