I would like to know if anyone went to Magic Live and saw the Mind Vention show. Kevin Burke performed a trick where he placed a card prediction inside of a bottle that was sealed. He had a spectator take the deck and deal down as many cards as he wanted. When he stopped Kevin offered him the top card of either pile. He then showed that if he had stopped earlier or later the cards would have been different. It appeared to be a free selection. Then he asked the person holding the bottle if he would like to keep it a mystery or smash it. They chose to keep it a mystery. I was wondering if anyone else saw this performed and what their thoughts were.
At first I thought it was a set up but, I found out that he will be performing the effect again in his show at the Fitz for an upcoming press night. I will be interested in finding out if the person choses to smash or keep the bottle. |

I have a feeling that it's going to be a very special bottle, as well...

Kevin did the MOABT at the Mindvention Session I went to and not thiscard predition in a bottle.
So what happened? The effected ended right there and nothing was reveled to show if the prediction was right? |

The spectator kept the bottle intact and it played very well I thought... Kevin will be at the MINDvention and we may be able to coax him into repeating the routine...

RC, yes, he kept the bottle intact. The process, the bottle, and the story are the totality of that particular piece...at least at that performance. A revelation would have been anti-climactic.
