Well at my gig this morning I was playing with my Sharpie while waiting for people to show up and I came up with a color changing Sharpie. I am just wondering if anyone has come up with this idea. Also my idea is with only one slight.
I'm not asking fr ideas on how to do it. I know how I'm doing it, and I am getting the supplies Monday. I am asking if anyone knows if this is not a new effect. |

I have seen a color changing Sharpie. But I will have to backtrack and see where or who has it.

Thanks. I will post a video of the trick sometime Monday so people can get an idea what it looks like.

Not sure if it fits the bill, but there is 'The Sharpie Manual' (Kradolfer / Feinberg), and 'A Marked Man' by Bizzaro. Both have color changes of sorts.
Good luck, Charlie |

I think you can find color change sharpie trick in Magic With Markers (2 DVD Set) by James Coats and Nicholas Byrd. You can find it at Penguin

Well, having in mind that the part that you can change in a Sharpie is the Cap ( the rest is grey ), I believe in one of Convention at the Capital VHS you would find a very good one that I use sometimes in restaurant/strolling work.
Good Luck!!

Here is a link of my effect. Its not at 100 percent yet this is just an idea what it looks like and to see if its been done before.
I used flash paper but it can also be done with no cover at all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqqS7iiZJl4 |

Different method, but Frank Balzerak does a color changing sharpie on his 'Magic for Humans's' DVD.

There is no method provided, but there is one between a silver and black sharpie in volume 2 of Inside the Mind of Garrett Thomas. It's a quickie between two effects.
I do think that yours looks good though. |

Thank you. As I type I'm making it look a lot better. I will cancel the video in about a week and post a better one with all of the things you can do with my method.

I don't really understand the vanishing sharpie (where the other one comes from and the weird right hand move away) and I think Jesse Feinberg used same thing as you did in the color change in his sharpie notes.
Not to be down on the videos. They were good nonetheless. |

Thanks, I know the other sharpie was hard to see. I have been working it and I found a better way.
The color change is a different method, so far I know, no one has the same method as me. It uses maybe one slight and a old one too. Just it is a default angel wise. But I think it is more visual then what is in Jesse Feinberg notes. |

Your color change is actually Bizzaro's color change. Bizzaro's notes A Marked Man is chock full of great stuff on Sharpie Magic. Watch his Sleight of Hand Demo and you can see him do a color change at 1:12 (and if you look close, you'll see me in the reflection of the mirror behind him).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GcrhsHj4S0 Bizzaro's got a ton of awesome visuals with Sharpies. I highly recomend his notes on the subject. One of my favorites is the optical illusion where you toss the marker from hand to hand and it appears to get smaller. Well, Bizzaro then drops it to to the table to show that it DID shrink. VERY COOL!

I watched Bizzaro's cc sharpie and I watched over and over, mine has a lot more angle problems then his, they are 2 completely different methods. Mine does use a slight that is a little easier then the one Bizzaro uses, and its a slight that every magician should know.
Also thanks for posting the video, I wanted to see Bizzaro's cc sharpie to make sure mine is different. |

The "sleight" you are referring to has been done before. Jesse's sharpie manual uses it quite a bit. The clean up is very similar to Bizarro's but used for a different part of the moment.
I myself have played with this idea, but it's honestly just easier to use two caps.
