Just finished listening to the new CD "St Anger" and it is brilliant. Best thing since the '80s.

Let's not forget, though, about the new Weird Al CD! Talk about good music!

Do you think this CD is more old school Metallica?

After Cliff died Metallica was never the same. They became whiney sell-outs!
But I really like this: http://www.sensoryresearch.com/~starkeff/beatallica.html Enjoy it! -Zero G |

I heard the title track and thought it was &*$#. I was very disappointed. I will still buy it anyway and keep my fingers crossed that it has some good stuff.
Master of Puppets is my favorite album. They never seemed to gain the edge and intensity although I do like a lot of the stuff that did come after it.

Metallica has never been a band with many hits but, they do have a strong fan base. I think they have sold out and tried to get 'big' with teenagers. If they didn't complain about online downloading so much they would have really dropped right off of the charts. Downloading music is a way to get back at the record companies for taking so much green from us.

I guess I must just be an old geezer... I thought they "sold out" way back when Dave Mustane left because they were whiney little boys... heh, heh, heh...
Boy: Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead only try to realize the truth.
Neo: What truth? Boy: There is no spoon. Neo: There is no spoon? Boy: Then you'll see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself. |
