When performing outdoors, do your prefer a more casual dress(jeans & t-shirt) something more formal (sequined jacket/vest with dress pants).
What are your thoughts depending on weather etc? Mark

I would say it depends on what you are doing.
When busking escapes, I performed in a safari shirt, khaki pants and an ANZAC hat. Another magician at the same site, doing close-up, wore white shirt with black pants and vest.

I would say it's up to the performer to wear what ever He, or She, feels the best in. We just finished a week of 4 shows a day for 6 days at a county fair. We had 2 hot days. One was 98, and another was 101. Each show I wore a long sleeve ruffled shirt along with a jacket that does have sequins. Yes, it was hot, but I dranks lots of water and had no problems, and yes I did wear a clean shirt and pants each day, nothing worse than a stinky magician. My personal feeling is that I need to look the best I can and give the best show I can each time.

You must always dress better than your audience. The ladies love it.

Is just being in "different" dress make you better dressed than your audience?

You can get by with a lot, as long as everything is as (1) clean, (2) ironed and (3) polished as possible...

Right now I am designing a future busking act only my billiard ball routine left to twik then I am set once I get my license, outfit, and spider table. I was planning on wearing a suit or tux to go with my top hat that and my white billiard balls go well with a black outfit along with the hat being usefull for the placement of balls, tips, and cards if I use card productions later on. Anyway I did some rethinking and I think that would be too hot and out of place I suppose the hat would be okay though even without a suit. People pretty much see them as advertizing magician anyway wich is one of the reasons I got it. Given that I should find a outfit that the hat would still be at least somewhat accceptable with that wouldn't be too hot and have trouser pockets, a breast pocket and a light jacket.

That is a tough one. I always dress better than my audience, but I could see dressing different too. I'm thinking dressing wild, but you could also dress down if you are Criss Angel.

If I am working outside I would wear a bowling shirt and a nice pair of dress pants. I like the bowling shirts from daddyos.com I think they look great to wear when performing.

I would not only be hot with sweaty hands that disable by manipulation but half to wash my suit after every days of performances and would be quite expensive. Plus I would look wealthy in one thus not looking like I needed tips. I need to come up with a coat or jacket that is light wont make me sweat like a pig and has plenty of pockets that can go causually with jeans and a t-shirt.

Check these out. I just got some and they're great. All kinds of deep pockets with mag clasps. They have another style that turns into shorts if you're going real casual.

Those pants are a bit too main stream for me. I like to wear pleated (baggy) dress pants.
