In case you haven't heard, Jeff Dunham is being sued by the producers and distributor of the film "I'm No Dummy".

The film was shown in 2008 at the VentHaven Convention and is an excellent documentary on the art featuring several top ventriloquists. The article may be found at:

I have to agree with Jay - it would be ashame if this film doesn't get released.

Would like to add another comment since it was mentioned on another forum. I am passing along the news article - nothing more. While I do agree that it would be ashame if the film isn't released, I am not saying either side is right or wrong. I have no more news than what is posted on these two sites. The legal system will decide what happens.

I know no more than what is in the article Tom posted and is related in Jay Johnson's blog. But it certainly seems to undermine Jeff's image as a good guy. So does his recent divorce, for that matter. I've never met Jeff, but I certainly admire him as a performer and as a great "front man" for vent. I don't know how much he is to "blame" for this legal brouhaha. But I suspect that, as with so many things in life, when money and lawyers are involved, things rapidly deteriorate and everyone comes out looking bad.

I've really been looking forward to seeing this film. I hope we all get that opportunity.

I don't think Jeff's personal life is at issue here. I am pretty sure the divorce has nothing to do with it. Lots of folks get divorced. Doesn't mean they are less of a nice guy.
I just heard Terry Fator is getting divorced too.

I think this is more of a clash of lawyers, but I too agree with Jat's blog.
