Ok my friends....so I went with design option 2 and they completely changed the design around and made it look AWKWARD...take a look and let me know
Here is the old template http://universalwebstudio.com/demos/magic/v2/ Here is what they did...they claimed to my liking, but I never mentioned any of this that I remember...maybe my mind is slipping at 24 New Site http://universalwebstudio.com/demos/magic/v5/index.html The banner has a compass, but I am not sure that that fits the site b/c I do not use a compass in my act?? Thanks Charles |

Moving in the right direction
gauging your reactions I agree...different...
Your choices in life can be compared to watching a magic trick: You can continue to believe the illusion in front of you, find the intrigue and desire to learn more, or quit paying attention the moment you feel deceived.

I would recommend the compass in the banner. But do not forget the tips we recommended to you previously.
"Entertainment the right direction" "Entertainment deliverance" "Ashore! It's Charles' entertainment" "Let us guild your corporate towards entertainment" "Shipwreck of entertainment" "Entertainment for all directions" |

A new motto: "Imagine the reaction of a random web template."
If you like the compass, use it. Otherwise, talk to your web design folks.

Also...ReactionWatson is all one word on the site, instead of two separate words.
In the second paragraph, Guest should be Guests...plural not singular. Kevin

The compass is disappointing to me Charles. It suggests to me that your design company is simply taking a very stock template and plugging your name and graphic into it. Nothing about the layout suggests "magic" or "magician" to me.
If it were me I'd ask for something more "magical". My 2¢ Chris |

OK...
that's a base template... I've seen it other places... do yourself a favor.. take a minute and MIND MAP your BRAND your brand isn't a logo.. it is your STORY.. Your LEGEND that YOU Write.. It's the Legend that clients remember when they hear your name.. Think about the BRAND... EVERYTHING about your site should scream BRAND.. Don't let a push web developer stick you with something that won't do your company justice.. Also they need to know that the menu is a rollover with javascript and images.. 1st off Google won't follow a javascript link 2nd no link weight will be passed by image links what does this mean HARD TO INDEX and get good rankings.. I am on my soap box trying to SHOVE you in the right direction.. cause after you agree to a layout and its done it's hard to get the changes needed to be SEO friendly..
its ok.. balloon dogs don't bite

Don't know if it's been mentioned but your photo is not cut out completely. There's background next to the fingers and behind your head that needs trimming.

Charles,
Blue text on a black background is not a good color choice (poor contrast). If you want to highlight text, yellow is a better choice. When listing a number of items, use a comma between each item until you come to the last one. Lose the comma; just use the word "and." Proof-read your text carefully. Potential customers notice mistakes. In your bio, use your full name in the beginning. It's your bio and it's another place your full name will be seen on a new page. I've sent you a document suggesting some corrections. Good Luck. David

Your guests will have the opportunity to win cool prizes, laugh out loud when their co-workers, family or friends participate, and even learn a trick. David, I was taught something different regarding commas in a listing. My understanding is that the comma can be used in the full list, including prior to the 'and' in the sentence. Both are technically correct. Plus, usage varies. For example AP guidelines are different than the MLA standard, which allows for a comma before the conjunction. I agree with you a hundred percent regarding blue text on black. Very hard to read. Also, I also believe strongly that black background and white text is a poor choice as I mentioned in the other thread and changed that template to have the white background. And Mike raises a great point about JavaScript links. At first I thought that was CSS but after looking, it is just an image swap. Please check out this site that I created for my wife: http://blog.angiejordan.com/ It has the exact same link feature (on my site the menu turns color where yours turns bold when the mouse goes over the link). My site uses the CSS line .hover to accomplish this with zero JavaScript or images. This code will allow it to turn bold: a:hover {font-wieght:bold;} Scott |
