I want to add a 3 shell's in my act and I wanted to do a history of the game. Kind of how Ricky Jay did with his cups and balls (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hgm4wZCACYg)

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has any info on Thimblerig and maybe some of the moves used. Or if anyone knows any books on the history of the shell game and Thimblerig.

Best source is the School for Soundrels DVD and associated information.

I bought a Thimble Rig set recently - An Alco Product (Google Thimble Rigging) 1987 routine by Al Cohen.

Just bought that set - great with the SfS perfect peas. Needs slightly different handling to sell the effect.

Also have the Karl Norman brass shells and several other sets (Black Fox Scarabs, La Maggiore, School for Scoundrels street shells, SfS antique copper shells and SfS brass shells - all GREAT to handle).

Has some nice background as does Wiki
