The reveal is nice (and well-timed to the music). Unfortunately, as it is it's not got much to offer in terms of conviction because you haven't shown how you've gotten into the effect, nor how you get out of it.

Too many finger rings for such a close-up routine. Very distracting.

I quite liked it and I don't think the rings are bad depending on your personality. How and where to use it in a routine would be (as it is in most cases) a maker or breaker.

All the video cuts and muti-screens are distracting from the effect. Nice premise though!

Reza,

I enjoyed watching this and thought it was very magical looking. Nice job. It was a nice departure from the very popular piece-by-piece restorations performed today. I also thought the video was very well done, finger rings and all.

The video is very well done, and the effect seems nice, but done for the sole benefit of the camera. In other words: does this effect, as performed in the video, work for a real audience that is not looking at your hands from over your shoulder?

As a stand alone specialty piece, very nice! Are you testing out the trick, or the video technique?

Great question!

Both. I am testing and exploring this for use on stage, live from the prospective of a camera and video projection.

This is a comment not about the effects but about Genii, or the writing and illustrations in Genii. The effects look exactly how you would expect them to look after reading them. Many times you read something, especially something in a magazine which is usually not someones A stuff and I get a certain picture of it in my head but when you work it out it's a bit off.

What I'm trying to say is that it takes very good writing to give the reader a mental picture of something complicated like a magic trick which honestly can be hard to describe. You can only use so many words and a few pictures but be able to convey to the reader the entire trick so they can go out and do it.

The fun part of posting all these links is seeing how they actually look compared to what I read and I think it might be something that's taken for granted. I've always thought the written work is much better than the visual for learning because it needs to explain the concept not the final product, a person needs to take that then work on their own to make it personal. If it were effects from a DVD they would all look like the DVD I assume.

I've gotten off on two subjects. The original point is the videos are a good reflection on Genii. Also don't want to forget the people who actually perform and make it look good.
