I wanted to post this video of my expanded handling based of my FLRT Manuscript. I still get weekly requests for a video. There will be one - but I'm in no particular hurry. In the meantime...

Maybe it's just me, I didn't see anything that I could define as "magic" in that routine. My reason for saying this is everything was done so very fast that my eyes couldn't focus on what was going on.
I would SLOW IT DOWN by 50% so the viewer can actually see and appreciate the effect. For me, I would classify this routine as more "puzzle-like" then I would as magic. Slow it down, and you may have something there. For what it's worth... Christopher

That's a nice little routine there, very visual. I was able to follow it however slowing the pace down would help. Personally, I think 50% would be a little too slow but do slow it down.
Anyway, I liked it. -Ron |

I thought it looked magical. A little flash of the double band at about 49-50 seconds in, but otherwise, very nice. The music was great!

I liked it as well and was able to follow along. Maybe it'd look better if there was patter rather than music in the background? Anyway, a nice routine!

Exactly!
Don't take what I said as me bashing you b/c I wasn't doing that at all. Your pacing was so fast, that I couldn't actually see what was going on which is why I said it appeared like more of a puzzle than magic. I want to be able to see the band inside of the ring (freeze) and then see the penetrations, etc. Hope to see it again at about 1/2 the speed... Christopher

LOL - My hide is pretty thick so no offense taken to any critique. I probaby should have taken more time than 15 minutes in front of a webcam, throw title and ending and some music. I'll slick-ify up a bit. Cut it up and make it like an E-llusionist demo (kidding) Thanks for all the input so far - Vinny, I'll call you tomorrow.

I just could take 30 seconds of that videos, because I found it very annoying to watch with all those flashes.
In my opinion, why even bothering uploading it, if you are not going to show the effect the way it is supposed to look. I just do not see the point why.. really. |

I agree. I almost switched it off during the first minute. I forwarded ahead a bit and there's some nice stuff in the middle, until about 2:30 where he goes back to the flashy edit stuff. That's when I turned it off.
Maybe it's just me, but during the phases that I did watch, there were too many times that it looked obvious to me (yes, magician thinking, but laymen have brains too) that you were simply pinching the band against/around the ring. I'm not sure what to suggest to fix it other than relax your handling and maybe position things so the ring/finger combo isn't so prominent in the shot. Vince, slow it down, increase your frames per second to help with all the blurry hand work, and just because your program allows all those flashy effects doesn't mean you're required to use them.

I'm going to have to agree with LF and Dave V on this one. I was reaching for the mouse to close the window out when everything finally settled down and I was able to see what the effect actually was.

The last time I went to Mexico I bought a silver wedding band that was big enough to fit my thumb. I guess in the back of my mind I knew I would meet Vince some day.

Ok...so here's the issue. STOP using a webcam. They have little to no resolution which makes your hands blur and you cannot see the effect.
I did sit thru the pile of dog snot editing and you know owe me for the headache I got. I can tell your a very talented and skilled technician of our craft, but this is far beneath you. Get someone to film you who has a video camera so you stay in frame, keep it smooth, slow it down, and breathe. I really want to see this thing shot in real time and done with a little respect to QUALITY... Christopher
