Remember that books inscribed to someone (and if it's you it's more precious to you) gain more value as collectors items. You can still get them from Harry.

Black text on charcoal gray? Harry, please have your web designer make the pages readable.

Ws: Interesting. No one else has mentioned that. I checked - it looks fine to me. I'm a lousy computer person; don't get it. HL.

Bill -

The problem may be your browser. I'm using Firefox and the (black) text is on a white background in my rendering.

Ironically, your site is showing up as black text on charcoal in my browser.

Looks fine to me. I use the standard Internet Explorer, version 8. One way to see if it is your browser is, of course, to try another browser. Besides IE, there is Firefox, Opera, and Google Chrome (which I have no love for).

I thought the same thing as WSDUNCAN when I checked out your web site Harry. But I first looked at if from my Iphone. It was unreadable from there. Just pulled it up in my Internet Explorer and it looked fine from there. But it looks like your web guy may have already made a change. Anyway, we just all want to see you succeed!

I believe it might be a MAC vs PC thing... I'm using mac's browser safari, and the background was the charcoal grey for the whole page. I switched to firefox on my same computer, and it was fixed (the dark background was only on the edges).

Maybe you could have your web guy take a look at the website in safari and fix it from there.

It looks very nice though, just needs a tweak for some users Smile.

There's the problem right there. You may need a real computer.

Upgrade to a Commodore 64 - no problems, works all the time.

Kjellstrom, why did you have to go and do that? I loved my Commodore 64 (and its upgrade, the Commodore 128). Only sold both of them after software got hard (read as IMPOSSIBLE) to get hold of.

Commodore also made a computer that was ahead of its time in the Commodore Amiga. I think it was one of the first sold to the public with a graphic user interface, otherwise known as a GUI. Combined with something called the Video Toaster, it was doing incredible animations for a variety of things, including the show Babylon 5.

My favorite games to play on it were all the infocoms and the original Bard's Tale adventures.

Harry, nice website. Is "Best of Friends" volume two out of print?

If we all chant "Reprint!" loud enough might we see one?

Very much enjoyed BOF 1 and would like to see the others Smile

Kimura: Glad you enjoyed volume 1 - but you don't mention Volume 3. Are you going to wait until that is out of print? It's available from me right now. Go to my new magic website - discussed here - and check it out. Best - HARRY L.

Safari Browser is what runs on the Iphone, so I'm sure that's the same issue.
And yes I had a Commodore 64 with a CASSETTE tape drive! Switched over to PCs and never looked back... sans my Iphone.

But anyway, hopefully Harry's web guy is checking this set of postings so he can fix things.

Harry,
I just reviewed in Internet Explorer 8, and Firefox 3 on Windows Vista, and both display just fine. In Google's browser Chrome (my regular browser) the colors are all off. Also confirmed that Safari on my iPod Touch has the same rendering problem. It's not a Mac thing. It's the browser.

I've been using Chrome for months now and this is the first page it's failed to render properly. Probably worth mentioning to your web guy as Chrome is becoming very popular because it's so fast, and uses so little memory (compared to IE and Firefox).

The site looks great in IE and Firefox, BTW.
