I think I am just going to do mine where they say

"MY CARD" on the back so I can always just offer to give them my card
ok no I'm not but I got one like that once.. LOVED IT.. still have it and when I
teach on branding in marketing materials for local business groups that's one of the cards I show off..

I have just recently started a new company and am thinking about my new card's / logo / brand / identity and so on..

I love this part.. the foundation laying and building
its ok.. balloon dogs don't bite

"Tell me about the "Self-Printing card trick""

It;s great, but I don't remember the name of the move or where I learned it. It's basically a paddle move with a card.
The general idea is I have my cards upside down in my card holder. I show the blank side once, then turn my hand over and show the same side again, as I slide it through my hand, so it looks like both sides are blank. I do this a few times and explain that I don't want to waste paper so I keep my cards blank until I need them. Then I run it through my hand once more, type the back of my hand like keyboard and the card comes out printed!
I'm sure someone know the name of the move, I think it's pretty standard. I started doing it more for fun than for magic per se, but like I said people really like it.

Here are two ideas fo the back of your card

1. Spell out some benefits of working with you
The back of your card is important advertising space fill it with
that will help sell you. Examples...

- 100% money back if your kids don't laugh like crazy
- Always arrives on time never leaves early
- Completely self contained show ZERO hassles for you

2. Offer something for free
You could offer a party planning checklist or a party tip e-book.
People download these all the time. You can write it in an evening
and it gives real value to the client. It will also direct people to
your website and you only give it to them if they give you a little
info. Trust me it works like crazy.

I don't like write on the back of business cards because it makes them really expensive scrap paper.

Hope some of that works for you.

Steve

On the Magic Café forum, you can edit a post within 30 minutes (and as long as no one posts after you, on that same thread, within that 30 minutes).

Look for the "edit" icon / word at the top of your post that you just made. It's beside the other words in yellow, like "online", "quote", "PM", "profile", "report this post".

Why not something that brings you more business? Like a customer testimonial, a satisfaction guaranteed, or both!

Why do we give business cards?
- To have more business and in return more funds
- Networking

My objective of giving the namecards to customers in based on the above and I want them to remember me for life. I must do something very unique and memorable for them to recall me in the future or remember me.

The front usually contains details about my company.
The back contains vision and mission of my company for professionalism and also manifest metaphysically into our daily life.
I use some of the principles explained in the DVD :

After Dennis' post ... what's left to say ... Great List!

I like the testimonial idea ... people don't use them enough, and if they seem to be from real people, they can be quite effective ... I would never write an ad without one ...

Also the Free Offer, or Special offer is a great idea ... but most people put that on the face of their card too -

A referral-generator would be good ... I'm sure you've seen them, "The greatest compliment you can give me is to refer me to one of your friends." Or "By the way, if you know of anyone who might appreciate the ... blah blah blah" You get the idea.

Good luck, hope you find something you like.

Seem to be? I'm hoping you didn't mean that as it reads.

An absolute certain way to lose business is to lie. If you use quotes / testimonials - they should be from real clients.

Tacrowl,

Absolutely I did not mean it in the way you perceived.

What I meant was to be more effective they should have a ring of sincerity. So many testimonials you find on websites are dry and generic and could have been written by anybody, but real sincere testimonials stand out, because they generally have specifics or there's something about them that rings true.

I totally, wholeheartedly agree you should never lie. And I would never endorse such an action.

If somebody else has interpreted my post to mean that, I apologize right here and now.
