This is my little review at Beyond ACAAN:
EFFECT: The magician displays a regular deck of playing cards, and places it on the table. The first spectator is asked to just 'think' of a card, and the second spectator is called upon to 'mentally' select a number, between 1 and 52. Without the magician asking any questions, the second participant is instructed to count, face-up, as many cards that will correspond to their 'mentally' selected number. The Performer asks the first spectator to reveal their 'mentally' thought of card. Do you not believe?, that the last card arrived at....... CONDITIONS: * No stooges or instant stooges. * No pre-show. * No force * No dual reality * No math or statistical method. * No mem/stack deck. * Works always. * No outs. * No gaffed or gimmicked cards or external gimmick. * 100% hand off. * Very EASY to perform. * Card and Number are only thought of. * No restriction on the number of the audience. * 100% impromptu. COMMENT: I must say that this is a very clever 'tool' to be included in your 'toolbox'. With principle used in this effect, you can perform a lot of trick without you touch never the deck. (Perfect Card Vanish, Perfect Open Prediction, etc, etc) It is very easy to perform. It requires Zero Skill. If you look for an ACAAN effect, easy to perform, Zero memories, Zero Skill, 100% hand off and totally impromptu then this effect is for you. Tommy suggests many ideas to improve 'Out of Destiny', 'Destiny Deck' and give method to perform this effect: "The magician place his wallet onto the table and gives the deck the spectator. He asks him to think of card and then to find it in the deck. Her card has disappeared from deck. Now the magician asks the participant to look in the wallet and card is there. This method works without the spectator names never his card. The magician doesn't touch the deck and wallet for the entire performance." Pay attention: This is not a joke, this effect is real and it is available here: http://sites.google.com/site/m2mmagictrick/destiny-2 RATE: 10/10 (easy and strong) Tommy, congratulations! M.P. |

I would strongly disagree that zero skill is required.
First of all, the concept is presented in a basic, straight forward way...it requires skill to tie it in to your performing style. Second, the average Joe will not be able to easily accomplish the effect- I would say that the performer should have pretty good audience management to feel completely comfortable with this effect. I mention these two points because there is not a highly suggestible script in the explanation (since it is a bonus). I am not saying that its HARD but I am suggesting that the tips and guidelines in most releases are not present in Tommy's little bonus here. Tommy's release is not the holy grail of ACAAN...but it has huge potential, especially if the performer has good SKILL. This is probably the best material in the ebook itself...(a third bonus )...others, would disagree. CW

From your post the effect appears that this effect requires high skill.
The only skill requested is to adapt your effect for your performance, because there is not a script or a suggestion and I believe this doesn't require an high skill. M.P |

Goodness gracious, it's almost as if Tommy was still here... So much advertising of his ebooks! Relax with it.

Could this be true? Is it really as described and is it practical for all situations?
Also, there is a video called destiny / out of destiny variant. Is this explained in the intructions. I have to say - I am 90% sold on getting this. Its just that many a.c.a.a.n. routines have dissapointed me to date. |

During my research on the perfect ACAAN I soon found out that there is no "grail" unless we could do real magic. My aim was to make it look like magic to the audience. I have been following the posts of Tommy and his friend for quite some time but apart from his own hyping of the different ACAAN effects (I cannot tell anymore how many there are and which is which) there have only been one or two honest reviews, and these were not too overhelming. I would be happy to read a review of someone who actuallly purchased the effect. If thtere is anybody out there please let me know what you think. I am not asking about any methods, I am asking about practicability and impact. Best Stefan |

Sfefan,
I don't know your method, but I know very well the Beyond ACAAN principle. I can say only: If you adapt this principle at your performance you have a Perfect ACAAN. You will able to perform ACAAN (Any Thought of Card At Any Thought of Number) without any "apparent" trick (Read all strict conditions). Practicability: This point depends only from you. Tommy suggests only the idea with 3 or 4 examples, but there is not a script or a guideline. I believe to adapt BEYOND ACAAN for your performance is easy. Just my opinion. The Impact: It is a killer effect. Anyway this is not the Grail: The holy grail of ACAAN doesn't exist. M.P |

I can't comment because I don't want to put in the hard work for ANY acaan effect (not that this is hard!). I am a collector of these effects and for that I am glad I bought it. He's certainly a "worker" when it comes to ACAAN. What I will say is this: If you are an ACAAN aficionado like I am then you need this version in your collection. Just like you need the others. I have about 12 ACAAN's and the one I will perform, within my ability and performing style is Stefan's for stage and ROUTE1 and ACAAN Again from Dave Forrest for closeup. J |

What I've heard, on top of the "ACAAN" 'mountain' is entity's: "Legend".

PsiDroid, see what I mean? Hard to see through all these Tommy-versions...
Anyway, maybe this is still worth checking out - if only for the sake of completeness. @John - thanks again for your kind words on "The Key to Your Card". I appreciate your comments. Stefan |

In its ebooks (Destiny/Destiny 2) he talks about psychological methods (Psychological force, Multiple Reality, False memories) math/statical method, sleight of hand version, Gaffed Deck version, mixing of effects (Ex. Invisible Deception: Invisible Deck + ACAAN full impromptu), memorized stack version, ACAAN for stage performance: with large audience (LA ACAAN and The Match) and now with BEYOND gives you a new way to perform ACAAN and all your effects without any apparent tricks. I believe if you will be disappointed for some effect is due only because some effect is not a mentalism effect but a Mental Magic effect. Conclusion: It is impossible to read these ebooks and there is not a version that is perfect for you. M.P |

Is Beyond ACAAN a variant of Criminal Induction?
(_Louis Cipher_) |
|||||||||
entermagic Special user 810 Posts |
No, Beyond ACAAN uses a different principle and at moment Criminal Induction
is not for sale. Anyway, with Beyond principle you can build a very strong Open Prediction effect. (Suggestion: Try to mix Brrr of Thomas Baxter and Beyond ACAAN principle) M.P |
