I work in a prison in the uk
a new thing the govenor has set up is a family day were cons that are well behaved can have there familys come down and instead of a normal old visit there will be activitys taking place, reward for there good behaviour. luckily for me I get paid to do magic! now its a firm belief of mine that education is what shapes your life (not in all instances) but a lot of prisoners are poorly educated, didn't attend schools etc so I'm looking to put together a trick that has an educational tale to it, I don't want it to be a full deck trick nor do I want it to be quick and flashy but definatly something that's put a message across and ends with a bang any ideas?

Hi Barry,
Whilst I understand where you're coming from and I think its wonderful that you want to make a positive impact on those around you, I'm not sure "magic with a message" will do the trick. Would you consider doing a great magic performance, really wowing everyone then offering some magic lessons? Learning new skills is very rewarding and heck, practising card tricks is a great way to pass the time. Your point about education is bang on, but getting them to actually participate in education is better than educating "at" them. Cheers, David.

Ah....sorry, my mistake. I was thinking you would be offering the lessons to the prisoners!
