Good stuff. I love the old guys that say, "Back in my day they didn't use those pumps" or something else condescending. People try to give me a hard time about being a wimp for using a pump till I give them a balloon to try to inflate. Haha. I say, "Yeah, now imagine having to do that 500 times a day."

Ever have anyone blow a gasket up on stage? I always tell people to be really careful.

I blew all of mine up first.

Sometimes I Find a kid who does manage to inflate one. Often this takes them awhile and it is only half way inflated. If this happens I tell them good job and then proceed to deflate my balloon wrap it around my fingers and make a curly.

They can't pull that one off.

Another twist would be to offer a 160 someone who successfully blew up a 260. "Here this one is smaller, this should be a snap."

Yep, good idea.

At a gig a few weeks ago, I went the other direction. When an adult could not blow up a 260, I gave him a 350 which, while he struggled, he was able to blow it up. He had fun trying to make something out of it.

You guys ever use the gag of trying really really hard to blow it up with no success, then realizing you were blowing into the wrong end?

Jest, I love using that gag. Blow a few times, looking confused. Make it really obvious about the wrong end, keep looking puzzled. EVENTUALLY, somebody usually says, "wrong end". When they do, respond with "but I'm using my mouth...". That'll get a good laugh.

Mike, can't believe it takes you almost 4 blows for each 260! I do 1 260 in one breath. Have never used a pump, either...
