Just wanted to let everyone know what's going on this fall. Here is a copy of a press release talking about my upcoming show. For those who can't spring for a cruise to come see it... I'm sure, like everything else, it will end up on Youtube!
Scott Alexander to Launch New Illusion Production Show Scott Alexander will star in a multi-million dollar magical production show that he co-created with Norwegian Cruise Lines. The show will begin performances on the Norwegian Spirit sailing out of New Orleans to the Western Caribbean beginning in early November. The show is based around the four elements of earth, air, fire and water. The aptly named “Elements” show features magic and illusions by Scott Alexander, the acrobatic and aerial work of Ilia and Valerie, and a cast of talented dancers, acrobats and bungee artists, who function like a Greek chorus in ancient theatre. Patricia Wilcox, the shows director and choreographer, is well established in the New York City theatre scene and is on the faculty of the prestigious “Steps on Broadway” and has directed several national tours of Broadway musicals. We have a great team of collaborators on this project,” says Scott. “One of our costumers is currently on this season of Lifetime Channels, Project Runway, our lighting director is the main guy who designs concerts for Nine Inch Nails and my lead assistant for the show dances with Pussycat Dolls in Las Vegas. We have an amazing group of people working on this show.” Magically, Willie Kennedy, Bill Smith, Charles Reynolds and Mark Kalin are among the illuminati that Scott has consulted with and has brought in to help build and design the magic. “One of our illusions is inspired by an effect that Doug Henning did in Merlin on Broadway back in the 80’s. No one has seen anything like it since then,” says Scott. Scott adds, “I can’t say a whole lot about the show yet, but I can say that the end of the show uses six pounds of confetti! |

Since new flowers for the stage were not in the budget, maybe I could get the shop vac concession.
At 6 pounds per show, how many days will it take to fill a stateroom with confetti? Richard

If six pounds is about a cubic foot and the average stateroom is around 3400 cubic feet then it will be awhile.......
Congrats. Mr. A. |

Yes, Congrads to Scott.
NCL realized they had a good thing before. The flowers are still in the show. I just make them too good so they don't wear out fast enough. But that's why they buy them, right. Richard

How do you do "bungee artists" on a cruise ship?
Things are more like they are today than they've ever been before...
