The description sounds great!
Visually skewer and separate your body into 3 pieces! Effect: A menacing looking cabinet is introduced with 2 long spears hung on its front door. The illusion is rotated 360 degrees. The back door is opened up and the performer (or an assistant) is locked inside of the cabinet. There are two handles on top of the illusion for them to hold on to while the torture begins. The spears are removed and the front door is opened showing the performers body in full view. The first spear is thrust through the side of the cabinet visually piercing the performers midsection. The spear is thrust all the way through the performer's sides, and out the other end of the cabinet. The second spear is now thrust through the performer's body from back to front. The audience can see this spear penetrate right though the front of the performers stomach with a devastating blow! Next the assistant pulls the spear running through his back and stomach, taking the performers midsection along with it, as it slides along the other spear going through the side of his body. His midsection is slid all the way over to the other side of the cabinet separating his body into 3 separate pieces while skewered by two criss-crossing spears. All is reversed and the performer steps out unharmed! - This can be performed completely surrounded. - The illusion breaks down for travel. - Pierced Alive only takes a few minutes to set up. - Pierced Alive requires no special lighting or staging and is completely self contained. - May be performed with the magician or his assistant. Can't wait to see the demo video! http://www.masterofillusions.ca/master_o......oon1.htm

Hey guys, just an update, the video will be up by October 1st(most likely tomorrow sometime). Keep in mind that we tried to have fun with this video and our video editor Rob McNeil(who is a genius at what he does) helped us male the video into a comedic spoof of B syle horror movies. I hope everyone will enjoy the artistic and comedic aspects we have applied to the demo.
The illusion uses very simple and basic illusion techniques and while it is not designed to fool magicians, it has been received exceptionally well by laymen who have seen it so far with a high entertainment impact, which is our primary focus. We built an illusion with a fresh new way to spike/spear a person with a zig zag theme built in, again using very classic illusion techniques. The prop is basically self working and is literally a no brainer to operate and fail proof. Its best features aside from the visuals the illusion offers, is its practicality. Its easy to set up/tear down, virtually impossible to screw up, can be learned in minutes, it can be done surrounded and in any lighting conditions, in any enviroment. Great for shows when you can't always control your enviroment. It will also fit inside of a small sedan when it is not in the ATA case, so when you have to travel your show in a small vehicle, it can fit right in. Thanks for your interest. PS We just finished building Luca Volpe's custom Accumulator Illusion for his new show. We custom built his with a durable laminate finish with a color and pattern themed for his show specifically. The durable laminate makes the prop's finish virtually indestructable. We posted shop pics of Luca's cool new Accumulator on our site on the same page for those interested in seeing it. Thanks Luca, we had fun building it for you! P.

I will open saying : I don't have nothing bad to Mr.Loughran,
sometimes I like his Props and sometimes no, like this illusion, I like the idea ( and this is the most important part) but I think the secret"not secret" is too obvious even in the audience's eyes! I'm so sorry but I like to say the thinks directly and whit out too many words! try to show this clip to a not magician and ask him what he think? in a second he can tell you how is done! so if the secret is not a secret or can open many solutions right in the Audience's mind , I don't think it's right call it magic! sorry again! |

Marcus,
I showed the video to a "not magician" audience and they were amazed what they saw! Nobody - not in a second and not after watching it again - could tell the magic secret!

I enjoyed the B-movie, “Tarantino” feel of the video; creepy, cool, and comic- nice And I think Peter accomplished what he set out to do with the effect of the illusion. He appears to be pierced, sliced and zig-zaged! As for what Marcus *tried* to say, just read his other posts and you’ll find that he’s had nothing kind or constructive to say about anyone’s effects, exclaiming that they aren’t magical.
No worries Peter, the majority of us DO know how to suspend our “inner magician” long enough to think and see as our audiences do and appreciate illusion from their perspective. Your efforts to design and create new effects are much appreciated, thanks for being brave enough to share them! |

The video was a little corny but funny as hell and the illusion was amazing. Thanks Peter for sharing. How small do this prop break down?
