I am just hoping to hear from you on what you perform to music.
I need suggestions, as I am building my act with more use of music. Currently, I do some TT work with silks, card productions, linking rings, milk pitcher, and soon to add the zombie and floating rose. Thanks

Practically anything can be done to music. Even patter routines can be enhanced by having background music. The hard part is matching the character of you and the effect with the music, and making sure the music doesn't overpower. Take a look at the CDs by Arthur Stead, then check out a lecture/performance by Duane Laflin; the man has music playing for everything!

These are performed almost completely top music:
Salt Pour Miser's Delight Dancing Hank & PTS Bowl-a-Rama Sponge Lunch Routine Miser’s Dream OLBS (Orange, Lemon, Balloon, Shoe) Snow Animator Floating Table I have a bunch of others where music is a complimentary background bed but the routine remains mostly verbal. I often use music bumpers as transition between routines or when bringing a volunteer assistant up to help. Dan. |

In my show I open to music, and do an introductory number with silks, canes, flowers, etc. I do the floating rose to music, and close with the chair suspension (China Roses).
If I do the Scorpion for older folks, a Japanese flute tune plays low in the background. If I do the mis-made flag for younger kids, America the Beautiful plays in the background. Jim |

I like to open and close with music and use it every chance I can in between. It keeps the show on schedule!

Levitating Table Snowstorm Head Twister Straight Jacket Escape Frankly....almost my entire show is done to music.....but then again....my show is called The Magic of Music. http://www.magicofmusic.com The two art forms blend wonderfully together. I think that unless it demands talking, there's no point in jabbering for no reason. Simply do it to music. Just my two cents. Carrington |

I have not incorporated music very much into my performances so far but have done so with these two effects, both very similar and not done in the same performance... Newspaper Tear and Undivided (cigarette paper tear).

I would participate in a can-can (Offenbach) when doing my Garden of Flowers tribute to the Blackstones.
Sitar music accompanied my NOT SILENT Lota Bowl. I used a remix of some Elfman stuff (yes the one everyone uses, plus ) on Snow. I also used a lot of royalty free unnamed stuff -- like one that was close to the "Stripper" for producing light from my mouth. Oh yes -- Thus Spake Zarathustra (2001) for lazer through the balloon.

Anyope use Malloys Rolling sound stage.?....seems a good way to incorporate some music in ones act.
Now I know he makes quality, but at $550 I cant help feeling its a wee overpriced. |

I use music pretty much throughout.
Most routines I start by talking and then quietly introduce the music in the background. |

Some of the mentioned effects I never though of using music for. I have three Magic To Music Routines. They combine several effects together performed to my Original Songs. However, a lot of routines can be done to music. Adding music to your show gives it a Big Plus in my opinion.
