Are you Mac or PC and how are you opening the PDF?

On a Mac, you just open the file and hit "Save As" to save as a Jpg or PNG or any number of other formats.

You can use a program called: King Kong Capture (on the web for free) and select the portion you want and click. Save as anything.

John,

Forgive my ignorance, but do you really need additional software to do that on a PC? I only use Macs and that stuff is built in to the operating system.

Interesting.

Last time I tried, you need the actual PDF (choose your brand) making software to "save-as" any other format. I have not tried recently... so that may not be current intel.

I use "JING" for screen capture. LOVE IT... it does Video as well! (And yes, it's FREE! - or was when I got it.)

If the PDF is less than a full screen, you can also do this under Windows:

1. Position the content you want to capture so it's completely in view on screen.

2. Press the PRINT-SCREEN key.

3. Open up Windows Paint - it's under Accessories.

4. Press CTRL+V or simply use the PASTE option in the menu.

The entire desktop will appear inside the Paint window.

5. Manuever the desktop image so your screen capture image is completely in view.

6. Press the ESC key to deselect the desktop image.

7. Click the SELECT icon in Paint to select that tool.

8. Select the image segment you want to save as a JPEG.

9. Choose CUT from the MENU or just CTRL-C or CTRL-X

10. Choose File-New from the menu.

When the system asks if you want to save existing image click No.

11. Choose PASTE from the MENU or just CTRL-V to paste your
selection into Paint.

12. Adjust borders, sizing, etc.

13. Choose FILE-SAVE AS from the MENU and choose JPG as the format.

Yeah, it's long winded but you don't have to buy any software....

Besides, you should know how to do this stuff if you're going to be creating marketing materials, webpages, etc.
