Do you guys have any ideas of a magic effect to be presented as a serious hypnosis stunt? I've already considered the chair suspension.

An Irish hypnotist, Adrian Knight, does a lovely chair suspension as a hypnosis stunt. He takes a volunteer from the audience (in reality a plant) and puts him in a trance, suspending him between two chairs. Then he stands on the guys chest. At that point it looks like a very impressive catalepsy test.
But then an assistant walks out and removes one of the chairs. There is a huge WOW factor. Here is an idea. If you can get hold of one of the Yogini chair levitations, have a volunteer sit on it, put them into a "trance" and tell them that their arm is very light and is going to rise up. This works quite easily on most people. As their arm rises up, the audience will believe they are witnessing a standard hypnotic test. Then continue your patter, telling the volunteer that his whole body will begin to feel lighter. The chair will do the rest, rising him up in a very uncanny way. It looks absolutely brilliant. Tony.
