Hi Jeff
hi everyone just wanted to discuss some types of cards you have found already marked. I went to a game the other night and to my shock I soon found out that each cards back had slight variations. The center of Copaq cards were faded, so some had spots in them. I found this VERY odd, as Copaq have a very good reputation, I doubt a month of play would cause the backs of the cards to fade. Upon further inspection of the deck I found that one card had a corner slightly filed. Think something is going on here? I have no doubt the the individual card was marked, but how about the fading on the back of the cards? |

Sounds like the people who you were playing with were simply too cheap to buy a new deck of cards. But, it is impossible to know if the imperfections in the cards were done intentionally or where simply because the cards were old and worn.
Dots/dirt, fading and discoloration are all methods that were used many years ago to mark cards. As you saw, that technique of marking is poor. So, I suspect the people who you are with are probably cheap vs. dishonest. That is one reason why people use paper cards....they only cost a few dollars and you can open a new deck every game. If you use plastic cards then marks will stay in play for a long time. (This is good or bad depending upon if you are the good or bad guy ) I personally hate the feel of plastic cards...and if you want an hinest game...I suggest that you stick to paper. (Like Bees, Bicycles, Tally-Ho, Aviator, etc.) I hope this information helps ! PS: I remember in my college days, I saw people playing poker with a "Dalland Dollar" marked deck of cards which were also stripped. So, I had some fun with that game....Sleight of hand and a marked deck can be fun...especially if you switch cards AFTER the cheater thought he knew what you had That will teach the kid to cheat my friends ... of course, I was only in my late teens then....so, getting even was fun
