Hi Guys,
I thought I would start a thread about my new DVD as there have been questions in other threads about it and thought I would clear everything up here. ‘Locked in a Room Without Coins’ is a DVD of non coin material. The criteria for the DVD from my point of view is that every effect had to be one that I had been doing for at least 5 years and that is still in my current working set. Therefore everything on this DVD is a real worker that it perfect for strolling, walk around or table magic. After the weekend I will post a description of all of the effects on the DVD but briefly I can tell you there are ten routines and all of them are designed for workers (i.e. no reset or angle issues). All the performances are done live to laymen and on the explanations I am joined by Russ Leeds who was a big help in getting all the information across. For anyone that saw my Blackpool competition act there was a routine I performed where a deck turned blank in slow motion. I had LOTS of emails afterwards asking if it was something I was going to release. The effect is called Photogenic and I had every intention to release it as a single trick DVD. However in an effort to give people as much bang for their buck as possible this has been included on Locked in a Room instead. Finally if anyone has seen my Flash Card routine ‘Essence Deal’ this has also been included on the DVD (mainly because I was sick of being asked when I was releasing it). I know that essence deal is David Penn’s favourite effect on the DVD! Anyway I hope that answers most questions but I would be to happy to answer any others. Just let me know on this thread and I will get back to you. Craig |

Thanks Cameron and John.
I love the material on this DVD, there are some real workers. The only problem is that I have lost almost 8 stone since I filmed them so I look back at the footage and think to myself "God, who's that Big, Fat Bloke"!!! Anyway, I think everyone will get something out of the DVD. Thanks for your interest Craig |

Looking forward to this DVD.
Is that over 100 pounds? Wow.
After much soul searching about a signature, I decided not to have one.

Hey Mayniac,
All the routines use cards in one way or another but a lot of the effects do not come across as just card effects. In addition most of the routines are performed from a shuffled deck in use - anytime, anywhere. Hey professorwhut, actually 112 pounds and counting! Still got about another 60 pounds to go though!!! Any other questions let me know Craig |

I have been lucky enough to see this material performed by Craig over and over again in the 'real world'.
I have to say that the material on this DVD is second to none. Really commercial plots and effects all of which are quite easy to do. EZ Waltzer and Shoeperman are my favourite routines but there will be something on there for everyone. If you have sen Craig's other DVD's and like his material this is a no brainer. If you have never seen any of Craig's work but are into strong commercial card routines this will be a great place to start. Well done on another great release Craig Russ |

Thanks Russ.
I now have the ad copy for the DVD and thought everyone on the Café would be interested in seeing exactly what is on the DVD. As normal any questions just let me know. Thanks again for your interest LOCKED IN A ROOM WITHOUT COINS Craig Petty is back and this time he’s left his coins at home. Featuring ten killer routines designed to be used in the real world to real people. Most of the routines require just a regular pack of cards and any moves required are fully covered in the ‘sleights section’. This is material that you WILL use; all routines have been tried, tested and perfected over the last ten years. Get ready to take your card magic to a new level. The Lance Burton Appreciation Trick An anytime anywhere miracle that combines a super visual wild card with a card under watch kicker. The best part is that all you need is a regular deck and you are good to go. Double Sandwich A KILLER version of the sandwich plot that combines multiple card revelations and transpositions in a flurry of magical moments Essence Deal This routine is pure eye candy combining super visual colour changes and flash paper. It has been described by many top pros as the perfect restaurant trick. EZ Waltzer An easy to do version of Doc Eason’s ‘Anniversary Waltz’ with a borrowed deck of cards – no gaffs required. Pickpocket A super commercial presentation for ‘Card In Wallet’. A signed card vanishes from a spectator’s wallet and appears in another spectator’s pocket. Shoeperman This routine is a master class in body loading. Three cards are selected and signed. The first card appears under a spectator’s watch. The second card appears in the spectator’s own pocket. The final card is found folded up in the spectator’s own shoe. An absolute reputation maker. Monster Opener A KILLER combination of Peter Kane’s ‘Wild Card’ and Dai Vernon’s ‘Travellers’ with a kicker that you have to see to believe. This routine has been one of the most talked about items in Craig’s lectures for years. Sandwich With a Kick A three part sandwich routine that gets more and more impossible with each phase. Features an ending that will literally stop the show. The Marker This routine has been a standout piece in Craig’s act for years. Combining the brilliance of Alex Elmsley’s ‘Between the Palms’ with a hilarious super commercial presentation this effect is one you are guaranteed to love. BONUS ROUTINE – PHOTOGENIC This routine was in Craig’s Award Winning Competition Act. Originally due to be released as a stand alone product we have chosen to include it on this DVD as an added bonus. A signed selected card is found using a ‘magical camera’. As a result the remainder of the pack becomes completely blank and is given to the audience to examine. |

Thanks for the question Rpascual.
All you need is a pack of blank faced cards. All the other routines do not require any special gaffs. Hope this helps Craig |

Hi Salby
It should be released any week now but as soon as I know more I'll let you know. By the way, I've had a lot of emails about the difficulty level of the routines. Most of the routines aren't that hard although there are a couple that will require so e practice. As with all my previous DVDs I have included a sleight section which goes through each of the individual moves in more detail. I hope this helps Craig |
