I know this has never happened to any of you fine folks, so have a good laugh on me (I know I did)...
Yesterday I had a seminar to do and in this particular seminar I did the half dollar in the bottle routine to prove a point. Well, a couple of mishaps happened. The first was when I asked the volunteer to take the bottle in his left hand. It took three attempts to get him to grab it at the neck. Then before I could put the coin in through the bottom of the bottle he decides to turn the bottle up and the gimmick fell to the bottom. But the funniest part was when I took the bottle and began to shake it to prove that it was a real coin in there, the bottom of the bottle fell apart (in one piece). It looked like it was cut. The group of people laughed. At the end of the seminar when I got the evaluations about three people said that was their favorite part. Someone actually thought it was supposed to happen that way. Hmmm, Maybe I should have a gimmicked bottle for this effect. Have a good day all |

Hi Gman, I can sympathize and chuckle at the same time. Thanks for sharing your story. You may also have a laugh at others expense (mine included) if you read Worse Performance Stories on this forum. We've all had days where for some reason or another things just didn't go quite right..and yes we do laugh about them after. I think personally that little Murphy guy likes me! |
