Will our health care dollars enjoy the same fate? Diverted to congressional pet projects... |

I just hope people take note that members of BOTH parties are at the trough.

I find "earmarks" disgraceful, but it's not quite right to say they "diverted" funds from something else. Generally speaking, isn't it more like they "tacked on a few million" that wouldn't have been there if not for the pork-barrel projects?

While troops are trapped in valley's with high mountains around them and our Medi-Vac helicopter's that are not pressurized can't get to them, dollars are spent on more important things like Museums.
Troops coming out of medical facilities after prolonged stays are hit up with a bill telling them how much money they must pay for the food they ate while recovering. Sounds like business as usual to me. The General's trying to run the war are told they don't need the extra troops that they say is necessary to achieve their goals. Money is best spent on our politician's pet projects and their own perks like $37.00 a month health care for full coverage. What are you going to do? If you complain, you are not patriotic. Shut up and pay your taxes! Iven

It is entirely possible (maybe even likely) that the programs from which money was diverted were themselves examples of pork barrel spending, and that the money was better spent on some of the 'earmarked' projects (some of which apparently had bipartisan support). I have to add, even though the Washington Times might (?) have a few decent reporters associated with it, I personally have trouble taking it seriously insomuch as it was founded by Unification Church founder Sun Myung Moon and is still subsidized by the Unification Church and its members.

C'mon! The Washington Times is "fair and balanced," just like Fox News!

Good.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.
