Hi All
This is a full performance of Cerebral Steal (James Brown) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tstYr1ksE2Q It says that this is everything. No stooges, no pre show nothing. Any ideas? Bubble |

I don't think I have any ideas. I just think it looks awesome.
It almost looks like James Brown has stooged an actor. (Now unless I have hit the method, I apologise) But I doubt it would be on dvd if it was. James |

The first time I saw this done was about 17 years ago by a guy called Bill Duncan (although I'm sure this performnace is entirely James' own and NOT stolen in any way). You see what you see although vinsmagic saw more and I'm sure a lurker wouldn't understand the language vinsmagic used.
I've seen James' work on DVD and although I know this one and have used it probably longer than James (unless I get a nice surprise and it's something else of course) AND I now do very little work with cards, I think I'll purchase this set. bobser

Top change was nice. Another way I have seen this used is,not to forget a card as in this video, but to quiet a heckler. You show him one card, top change and show his friends another. You do some magic and find the other card. The heckler will insist you are wrong but his friends will insist your right.
Now you have the upper hand as you know his original card too. Ask him what he thought he got and produce it from a pocket or wherever. |

Funny I recently purchased this as a download and watched the entire video but I still couldn't make out how he managed the banana bit, as he didn't explain it in the video. Then suddenly, as I rewatched the video, it made total sense. What a clever genius. Brilliant idea.

"I'm going to show you a card. It's not important that you won't remember it"... Nice.
The first part is really simple. No idea on the banana bit, but in the promo for the DVD you can see him working the same spectator for various effects, so it's possible that it was a previous "hypnotic suggestion" being triggered at a later time. Luigi |

A very well structured routine.
As previously mentioned, a good top change. As for the banana routine, it's got to be a ***no ****e. Neil. |

Very nicely done, love the banana bit.
By failing to prepare, we are preparing to fail.

Well isn't the word banana written on the first card before he does the top change?

The top change was easy to spot from the comfort of my living room.
For the banana, I think of all the curvy moves he does with the hands, and the possibility that something yellow, or something suggestion the banana was on the card, but not the word itself (the risk is too high). I also am pretty sure that it's not sure fire, and that we got a good performance among others where the banana bit fails, and where he's got outs. P! |

I got this link from Dominic Reyes recently: http://www.magicshop.co.uk/p20212/Cerebr......nfo.html
Does anyone know whether this download includes the word prediction presentation, or does it only cover the card prediction? Nigel |

Hi guys!
James Brown has most certainly had the person in HYPNOSIS beforehand and done a HYPNOTIC FORCE as seen - for example - on the Manchurian Approach DVD set by Anthony Jacquin. He could have done it hours before the actual performance or just a couple of minutes before the camera was put on. The hypnotic force is something I often use and I love it! And it doesn't matter if the spectators see you do it. It's another effect then, but still highly impressive. Manchurian Approach: http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S11664 /Mikkel
