I was doing a Google search on some ideas for an upcoming event and the Café was one of the matches. It was also a match while looking up Jeff McBride, Slydini and the muscle pass.

I lurked for about a week and then joined in the fun.

I was originally known as RiffClown here. Smile

How about you? What's your story?

I think I was searching for a forum like this (grew bored of MagicTalk) and found this one. Glad I did. I lurked for a couple of weeks then joined. I was originally known as Scott F. Guinn and sometimes still go under that name (along with some phoney picture I found of a guy leaning on his fist). Smile
Thought: Why does man kill? He kills for food. And not only food: frequently there must be a beverage.

I joined the same way you did Rob. I was looking up Fearson's Laser Illusion and I ran into the Café. I am glad I did....

I was on the Happy Magic.com Bulletin Board and someone there recommended it (this was just before they decided to let it go up in smoke).

Since then I have been telling anybody (magician) that I know about it.

Someone had a list of the best magic forums, and TMC was at the top. Smile
By the time you read this, you've already read it.

I was looking for "the mattress Café," and through a bad set of typos, ended up here...

I was a frequent visitor to alt.magic.secrets, but disliked it due to all the flaming and profanity. Somebody posted a message talking about this site...the rest is history...and so are my visits to alt.magic.secrets.

A recommendation by Ian Rowland.

Someone (I think it was Joe Marotta) mentioned it after one of our LAFCM meetings and I looked it up.

Glad I did, it's been great being a member here.

Was Googling for anything on the late great Edwin Hooper of Supreme Magic. I am not sure whether spiders still crawl every posting now though on the Café. (?)

I used to frequent the Magic and Illusion forum. A couple of the guys there mentioned the Magic Café and I visited once but didn't stay. Then I met that Guinn fellow and he encouraged me to give the Café another try. When I saw that Vic Brisbin and Darrin Cook were both here too, I decided it was time to sign up and join in. Long live the Magic Café!
